I've been squating like a powerlifter for a long time. but now, for few reasons, i started doing ass to grass type squats. My problem is that after 2-3 reps i feel that my legs are gonna cram ( i hope its the right word Cheesy ) any moment. And they sometimes do if i finish my workout at maximum range of motion. I feel that i can like double the weight ( well u know what i mean Cheesy) that i am doing, but this pain prevents me from doint that. Any ideas how can i solve this problem: maybe some of my leg parts are underdeveloped and not suited for such weight yet? what then, should i continue doing my squats the old fashioned way and do specific exercises to counter my weak parts? Thank you for your time for reading this. I hope my English wasn't super bad Cheesy

If your getting cramps though it might mean you didn't warm up properly. I would suggest at least 4 warmups set starting with the empty bar and then adding 20-50lbs each time until you have reached your working weight.

Mr. Lemon pie, did you recently jump to ass to grass form without decreasing weight?  If yes, then it might be because the weight is to heavy and the stress on your muscles causes you to cramp - as you didn't warm up properly and you're not that flexible yet.

One good way to strertch is to do slow negatives - body tight.  Eat a banana.  Smiley

K, thanks for your replies guys. Although i warm up with about 2-4 sets depending on the weight i'm doing. Maybe putting some bands over my legs may improve my performance? Some of my mates do that, but i never asked if that was the case. Also, yes i should probably stretch more Cheesy
