Ok so I've been working nearly 3 months. I only have dumbbells and bodyweight to use, and I'am looking to invest in a pull up bar. Now after 3 months I've gone from being able to lift 4kg with my exercises too 10kg and have bought 20kg of extra weight plates ready for progression, I can also do 50-60 good push-ups and 40 dips.

I currently cannot see any muscle mass gain, although my strength has increased significantly is this normal, and should I be more patient?

Yes please. Pretty normal, at least in my case. 3 Months isn't that long.

You made great progress strength wise, just keep at it.

You should be eating more because for one to gain mass, one must eat more than one's tdee.  Therefore, the problem here is, are you eating more than your tdee?

40 dips is beastly.  Keep it up. Smiley

Aren't chair dips are similar to parallel bar dips?

    Actually yes.

    But he said
Yes 40 dips using a chair.
Maybe he is using only 1 chair? Which means no way to do parallels  Smiley

To make it complete, the discussion is about this kind of dip

    or this kind

I'am using a computer desk chair, and even though ive been working out for 3 months, I always used to do push ups randomly so I must have worked my triceps a lot before I started properly lifiting.

You're doing bench dips or parallel bar like dips? :3

40 is still a great number.  Good job either way.

One chair, then.  So you're doing bench dips, yes?

    Like this: http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Triceps/BWBenchDip.html

You should start using two chairs to perform normal dips.. Unless that is somehow what you're doing, if so, then 40 is immense.
