How many pounds of muscle should i expect to gain in 3 months im 16. im an ecto/mesomorph. I seem to gain muscle and strength quite quickly probably because im a begginer. I eat 500 calories over my required amount needed to stay the same weight (healthy food ) i follow wolf's advanced bodyweight routine and i increase the weight used in for the workouts by 5lbs every 2 weeks except for push-ups im finding it hard to progress to a higher amount of reps for my handstand pushups

Maybe 5lbs of weight. (weight - not entirely lean muscle). Anyway it shouldn't even matter , because lifting should be made a lifestyle not a 3 month or 6 month trial

The correct question to ask would be "putting growth spurts aside, how much muscle can I gain from weight training". If you are new to lifting, do everything right and eat properly, you might gain up to 2 pounds of muscle per month, max. Any additional weight is a combination of glycogen, water, and fat, mostly fat though.
Growth spurts as a teenager add a whole new level to that, but have little to do with your training.

On what workout? On what diet? Describe the group of subjects?! You guys need to stop coming up with arbitrary numbers

Nobody can tell how much muscle can you gain in 3 month because everybody is different . Remember if you are beginner you will gain muscle fast because of newbie effect then the gains become slower every year but remember gaining muscle is a very slow process . maybe 1 pound or 10 pound it doesn't matter because you can gain 10 pound in a day by eating salty chips and junk food . what i try to say don't use scale without skin-fold caliper for short term like 3 month , use it for lifting a year and above because if you use it for short term without skin-fold caliper will not know how much have you gained . Because the weight that you gain can be fat or muscle or water so if you want to know how much can you gain in 3 month use scale and skin-fold caliper if don't know what is the skin-fold caliper .The skin-fold caliper for checking bodyfat percent and weight and for checking the lean muscle weight here is a pic
