Hey,

I was checking workout videos, and suddenly i find myself in a stream of PX90 before and after vids.

Is this workout legit? It seems greatly exagerated to me tbh. Especially stuff like this:

P90X Transformation Results (Review) (workout)

Just wondering on you guys' uptake on this :-)

I'm seeing great results with my current workout plan, but nothing to the likes of things in these vids Sad

For refference, my 3 month progress : http://bodyspace.bodybuilding.com/devilzown666/ (feel free to comment)

greets  Cool

Wow such timing of your post, I seen this when I turned my TV on yesterday morning on the teleshoping channel, it promises to get you ripped in 90 days for like $95.00 or £60.00 in queens pounds. I watched the ad and I think it's biggest selling point was the program makes you constantly change routine to shock your muscles which apparently gets quicker results. but 90 days is just a few days less then 3 months, and unless your on steroids I don't think you can get fully ripped in 90 days, you will put on a bit of muscle for sure but, you wont become ripped like captain america.

It really does work if you follow the nutrition plans etc. But so does many other FREE routines too, as long as your nutrition is good and you rest enough. Those commercial transformations may be fake, but there are real ones for p90x too. If beginner took some FBW and did it the same amount of time with enough rest and good nutrition sure would get as good, maybe better results, and for free.

    Sir,

Your current plan is working. So, you shouldn't change it.  Because you'll be wasting money.

Don't believe claims which are too good to be true.  Although px is effective, it's not necessary as information found in this forum is worth more and is free.  To add, the system found here is not merely for 90 days but for life.

it probably works. and as you see in picture that guy wasnt like 300 pounds in before picture.. he just got ripped in 3 months which is achievable for him at that bodyfat. and you dont have to pay hundreds of dollars for p90x .. i Downloading of copyrighted materials with file sharing services is illegal. ed it and checked the videos Smiley they are using mostly resistance bands and light weights. a lot of push ups and pullups. was looking ok but i didnt follow it Smiley none of those guys are really big. so you cant gain 20 pounds muscle in 3 months anyway  but you can get ripped if you are not extremely overweight

As hopefully everyone here knows, you can't gain 30 pounds of muscle in 30 days or 90 days, even juicing. 30 pounds of weight, no problem, where's the pizza!  Grin  But like the guy in that video, someone who hasn't trained before can get the "noob" gains following P90X or almost any other program if they train with intensity on a regular basis, rest properly, and feed themselves sufficiently. When you start out lean, calorie partitioning seems to favor building lean mass when you eat a little above TDEE, compared to starting at say 20% bodyfat, so he had that going for him too.

It's great that the guy was motivated by that program; that can be the biggest hurdle. Having a short-term goal or target date to finish something can be a great motivation, versus "I'll do this until I'm huge and swole, and 7% bodyfat" which is way too open-ended and can lose motivation over time. But if you have a weight training and cardio program that you enjoy and have both short-term and longer-term goals you can reach, then there's no reason to pay money as an external motivator. You have to motivate yourself to persist over time.

Most questions you have about building muscle is answered in this article.

Getting big, strong muscles and losing fat is simple but it's not easy! To accomplish anything worthwhile in life, you need a firmly fixed goal; willpower; a high tolerance for pain.

You hit the nail on the head with he "seems to have gained 20 lbs". Picture One no flexing standing idle. Picture two and three BF% has dropped and he is flexing, I can tell by the strange hand pose. Just by a person lowering their bf% they seem to have magically packed on muscle even though they really may not have gained any. Being new or restarting workouts after a long break the first few months people see great results if they work hard and watch their nutrition. The guy in the video wasn't "fat" just out of shape and with an intense program like p90x dropping bf% for someone like that happens quick. So completely plausible IMO.

Now p90x is extremely basic. I've done it for a month and I'll be honest I looked really good after it, but for me wanting to build muscle the program doesn't have a lot of compound movements that get down into the 8-12 rep range that builds size. I ended up stopping because of this. But i did "look bigger/better" I stopped p90x at 168lbs, but I looked better than when I weighed 183lbs with a little higher BF%. But when I was 183 I was much stronger at the time.

But if I remember correctly Chest and Back days went something along the lines of 4-5 sets of max pushup and pull ups super set, i can double check if you really want to know. But, nothing ground breaking pretty basic, just intense because you get almost no rest.

Well, you have to look at the routines. Yes, they are effective. However, so are many other programs. Keep in mind programs like Insanity are not made for out of shape people. They may promise things to people out of shape, but Insanity and other HIIT programs like it are a disaster waiting to happen for out of shape people or overweight people(LOTS of impact in the exercises); That being said, Insanity will improve your endurance and get you in good shape IF you stick to the program and nutritional guidelines. P90X will help you get into shape, lose weight and gain some muscle - If you do the program as intended and don't lazy your way through it. Its just like boot camp, designed to train soldiers and get them in peak physical fitness in a shorter amount of time - except boot camp is more effective because of the time spent with soldiers ensuring they do what they are suppose to. These programs will help you, but so will Scooby. People for some ungodly reason think that they must pay to be in good shape. All these programs do is take fitness knowledge and package into one rather than you having to learn the material from different sources. About a year ago I did Insanity, though I have not done P90X. You know what Insanity was? Almost all the fitness routines were based off of workouts taken from sports training from various sports (Burpees, football stance sprints, mountain climbers, ect). Thankfully I got it for free from a friend who couldn't do it so he gave his DVD's away, but I urge people not to spend their money on these. Scooby will help you just as much, if not more. And for free. Sixpackshortcuts is a total waste of money. Don't get me wrong, their youtube channel has some nice workouts on it - but that is about all you will, the same information they have on youtube for free. Or so I would imagine.

I disagree, I think P90 is a GREAT idea!. Most people NEED someone to help them keep tempo and motivate them while working out. Scoobys info along with countless other sites are great!, but for some they need the extra "push" from someone there doing the exercises with them. Also diet advice and PROPER nutritional information as well as instructions on HOW to make the meals is great and all this is offered in P90.

For me I dont see a need for P90 I have other means of motivation and as many others I take full advantage of the information plastered all over the internet.
