Hi, I have a question regarding the workout listed here: http://scoobysworkshop.com/zero-to-100-pushups-for-complete-beginners/

Currently started off a week ago on Phase 2 - Knee Pushups.

It states that once I can complete 20 knee pushups in each of the 5 sets to move to Phase 3.

In the first set, I can do well over 20 but as the sets go by I still cannot accomplish minimum 20 in all 5 sets.  My question is am I supposed to stop at 20 on the first set which will improve my chances to accomplish 20 in all sets to move to Phase 3?

Thanks in advance!

Do as many as you can in each set till you can get 5 x over 20.

Yes, you should stop on the 20 on the first set, to see if you can do 5x20.

i thought they need to do 5x20 knee pushup=100reps to move to phase 3 so if i can do 20knee pushup from 1st set i can move to phase3? i thought i need to do 20reps on 5sets to move to phase 3

@kimchester

Yes it seems more people are leaning towards the requirement to move to phase3 is to accomplish 20 knee pushups in each of the 5 sets (100 total).

Good luck!

    Do up to 20 reps on the first set, then rest and do the next set. Once you can do up to 20 on all 5 sets, then move on. If you do say 35 in the first set, you'll be too tired to reach 20 in the later sets. So stop at 20 when trying to do 5 sets of 20 as the goal.
