Of course many people have found it to be effective. You just have to look through this forum, his youtube and the facebook page to know that.

And the intermediate workout is straight sets.

Dont expect rapid results from any workout program!

You can do round robin or straight sets, whichever is more convienient.  If you have spinlock weights with just two handles, its a real time sink to keep putting plates on and off.

I started out on scoobys plan. I changed (made some modifications) as I progressed but the basic idea of the scooby plan has stayed the same. 5 days a wk with each body part being hit once per wk. some pics in my profile. I have put on 20+lbs of muscle. you can see I am by no means fat Grin so it must be muscle Wink in around 2 yr.

I have NO doubt if you follow the plan and his nutrition info you will gain muscle. its not just the plan, its the whole package you need. you also need to keep updating your knowledge because you will progress and with this progression you need to change your plan to the advanced plan at the right time.

    this speaks for itself.http://fitness.scoobysworkshop.com/MuscleGainSuccessStories.htm

Seriously? I hadn't thought much of scooby's plans as they didn't do anything for me but if what you said is true then I was dead wrong!

A lot of the success stories are for people taking bits of advice (some nutritional info for instance) and working out at a gym. Don't think because they want to have their pics on the website that they necessarily followed scooby's plans

I have always been fairly fit, I started lifting in my 20's but didn't keep it up. I was a serious rock climber and mountaineer for many yrs until an injury put me out of action. injury due to over training and tendons. I done nothing but rest for about 2 yrs so become an average guy. I started to notice the muscle I once had was gone and decided to do something about it.

I had a simple set of dumbbells so started with these and scoobys youtube videos. once I got the feel for it I got some more gear. I tried ebay first but kept getting out bid so ended buying a set of dumbbells and barbell. started a mix of scoobs plans so I could rebuild strength in the weak arm without damaging it again. then came the bench/half frame and a few more bits. from the advanced plan I added some cable rows, pull downs squats and dead lifts. I only added these because I had the gear. after some time I tried wolfs plan for about 3 months. 3 on 1 off mainly for a change and I felt I wanted to hit legs twice a wk. it didn't help much cos plateau busting was harder with extra body parts on the same day meant if I tried to train something harder another body part missed out. so back to scoobs way of training. 1 body part 5 days a wk. there are many ways to train, but this suites me and I am getting very good results.
