I've discovered another fitness guru on YouTube, called Scott Herman and he seems to be very popular. His style is very different from Scooby's, but I do think he has some good routines and exercises in there...

Have any of you watched his videos before? If so what do you think?

To those who haven't, here's a link!: http://www.youtube.com/user/scotthermanfitness?blend=1&ob=4

He seems to have no clue about form or workout structure. Unless you want curl form don't watch his videos.

Overall he's decent but most of his videos teach poor form that will lead to injuries.

Basically, damn hard work with even bad routines can work just fine. I did mostly machine work isolations and compounds (all very badly designed and thought out/arranged etc) my first year or so of training and made significant muscle gains, because I was consistant and ate ALOT not giving a crap about my razor abs. In that time I went from weighing something like 55-58kg to 80kg. (about 50lbs) And even after that year I've continued to gain very quickly, been losing some fat recently so my weight is evening out but I'm getting bigger and stronger weekly.

Scott has clearly experimented over the years and found what works for him. In the last 2 years or so he's gotten seriously bigger. Watch his old chest routine vid (got million veiws or something) and the new Zeus one, huge difference, so it's obviously working.
As usual people (often smaller people) will cop out and say "well if he did FBW he's get better gains" well I'm sure Scott isn't losing any sleep. This is the same for all successful people, theres always people who think they know better.

His advice is often fine for Bodybuilding. However as a forum of primarily members that are more strength minded, as soon as Scott comes in with isolations (god forbid) everyone claims it's all useless, which is bollocks in Bodybuilding and In Powerlifting of course. Do some research and you'll learn powerlifters use machines such as cable crunches, great for ab strength, calf raises for knee health, rotator cuff movements, light weight leg curls to thicken ligaments and tendons, hammer curls, tricep extensions, lat pull downs etc.

Ofc they also do the big stuff, Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press and their hundreds of variants with bands/chains etc, Good Mornings, Glute Ham Raises, More Squats.
I don't think isolations will ever take the place of compounds, compounds are king, however the two can compliment each other very well no matter what your training for.

No one has said anything about iso's being useless yet, but I think I remember on other threads about Scott the subject always came up.

I've seen his videos on how to do certain exercises. Like dumbbell dead lift. I think people should try and not get into segregating different you tube fitness gurus for example sitpackshortcuts vs scooby for example (Even though they are different), I think that we should all Just appreciate that there into fitness and distributing it to the world.

As scooby once said, everyone who collects some thousands dollars (forgot the number) for charity is good in my book. I personally like his positive and smiling attitude. And he definitely brought many into fitness and trys to do the best within his knowledge. And whatever he did, he has a good physique Wink.
However I canceled my youtube subscription for his channel because the most stuff is crap/spam to me personally Cheesy but I wont turn him down in general.

I agree with msifuw. He got a great actitude that encorage people to workout and i dont think hes form is as bad as everyone says, he got a lot of how to videos, that IMO are good. I got a gym membership and thanks to some of his tips i got started on how to use properly some of the machines.
