If done poorly, dieting can lead to lean mass loss. If done properly, not so much...

Most questions you have about building muscle is answered in this article.

Getting big, strong muscles and losing fat is simple but it's not easy! To accomplish anything worthwhile in life, you need a firmly fixed goal; willpower; a high tolerance for pain.

Yes if you decide to eat one chicken salad per day...

You wont lose any muscle or very little if youre getting enough lean protein, less carbs and 200-300 calories less than your tdee.

You wont, if you do it right, and get enough protein, rest and so on. You will probably lose some strength though.

YES you will lose some muscle, the amount depends on how strict you are on your cutting cycle and how well planned your diet and cycle is.

You'll probably find it harder to lift so much when you cut back on your intake, thus you might find a you have a bit of muscle loss.

If you're super focused and strict with your nutrition you may be able to minimise loss to almost nil... iffff you super strict  Grin

Not necessarily, If a 300lb beginner diets while working out, he will probably GAIN muscle, if a guy like goose or scooby diets, some minor muscle loss is pretty inevitable, for a guy like me, probably little to no loss, but little to no gain either.
