A cardio plan for a guy with a injured ankle?

Hi! About 2-3 weeks ago, I tore one of my tendons in my ankle and have been out of football. I have already gained 8 pounds and want to know if there is a cardio plan that doesn't require use of my ankle.

There is not much to do. There is a machine that I used when recovering that had you just using your arms while turning a wheel. I can't remember its name. But I would not push the ankle. You could make your recovery time last much longer.

Punch a bag, go swimming with one leg and if you have problems staying on the surface use floating device

Maybe you could try a no rest upper body dumbbell routine with medium to light weight.

a handbike, many gyms have these
swimming if the doctor gives you the green light for that
stationary bike pressing on heel rather than ball if doctor allows that

Rowing machine also works I don't think it would put any strain on the ankle too.

lots of fun stuff you can do
sledgehammer workouts without Jumping jacks of course
power rope workouts
Arm bike or Pro2 intervals (google Sci-fit pro 2 arm bikes)
You can use an elliptical depending on how bad your ankle is
walking on hands using a wall for support - do 10 yard fast (30sec break) repeat for 10 minutes
