Hi! About 2-3 weeks ago, I tore one of my tendons in my ankle and have been out of football. I have already gained 8 pounds and want to know if there is a cardio plan that doesn't require use of my ankle.

There is not much to do. There is a machine that I used when recovering that had you just using your arms while turning a wheel. I can't remember its name. But I would not push the ankle. You could make your recovery time last much longer.

Punch a bag, go swimming with one leg and if you have problems staying on the surface use floating device Wink

Maybe you could try a no rest upper body dumbbell routine with medium to light weight.

Rowing machine also works I don't think it would put any strain on the ankle too.

lots of fun stuff you can do

    • sledgehammer workouts without Jumping jacks of course
    • power rope workouts
    • Arm bike or Pro2 intervals (google Sci-fit pro 2 arm bikes)
    • You can use an elliptical depending on how bad your ankle is
    • walking on hands using a wall for support - do 10 yard fast (30sec break) repeat for 10 minutes
