Alternatives to Running?

Hey guys
I am unable to jog for my cardio. I tried jogging last September for about a week and I ended up pulling something in my leg and the pain was excruciating. I am 100% sure it was from a combination of not doing cardio since highschool and surgery which I had on my knee a few years earlier.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend or direct me to somewhere where I can perform some high intensity cardio workouts? For example, the one where your hands are on the floor and your back is high in the air and you alternate running your legs? I was hoping for a bunch of exercises similar to it so I can build a cardio routine which can be done in my home.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

i. consult your doctor. your doctor will tell you what you're not allowed to do.
ii. ask your doctor if it's okay to swim. swimming is a joint friendly exercise.
iii. ask your doctor if it's okay to briskwalk. briskwalking is not as intensive as running, but it's a nice low impact form of cardio.
iv. consider a change of shoes. a good running shoe store will suggest something that fits your feet perfectly.
