Hey everyone

so for my cardio, i always run on treadmill during winter or stationnary bike (rarely)

i run 40 mins for a total of 5.70 miles

my speed :

- for the first 20 mins, 7.0 mph
- from 20 mins to 30 mins, 7.2 mph
- from 30 mins to 39 mins, 7.5 mph
- from 39 mins to 40.5 mins, 8.5 mph  (i just do a boost for the last 1.5 mins)

so yea, i was just wondering if it is too much or OK
i am asking this because of two reasons:

First: if the person next to me runs fast we make the breaker jump

Second: I sweat way too much, i think i have the hyperhidrosis thing, i mean after im done running my shirt is completely wet and im not exaggerating, it is all wet from top to bottom, i have to wear dark color shirt at the gym to hide it

so yea i had a freaking bad time at the gym today since those two reasons happened at the same time, after i was done with my workout i decided to do stationnary bike (HIIT for 21mins) after 5 mins i was sweating so much i had to wipe my face with my towel every 20-30 secs, i mean wtf it was the first time it did that so soon. so i decided to run on the threadmill instead like i usually do and i was sweating so much. after 15 mins the breaker jumped because a girl next to me was running fast. so my treadmill and hers stop immediately so she asks me "what happened" so i look at her and say " breaker jumped probably " and while i was saying that i had so much sweat in my face that it was dripping on the floor.

i was so angry of the situation that i just decided to leave the gym without finishing my cardio wich makes me even more angry now

You're not the only one who sweats, I don't even have to move and my armpits are wet Wink. The harder your cardio is the more you will sweat of course. I'm all wet after a 1h run, skating, floorball football etc. It can be a sign that you're in great cardiovascular condition. Just don't mind about it, if you wouldn't sweat you'd probably die Wink. If you really are worried of what it might be this isn't a place to ask really, you should get yourself checked if you feel like it.

How could this too much cardio?

I assume you are worried about losing muscle mass because you are doing that 40 min routine?
If you were doing this every day it wouldn't be too much cardio.

If you are concerned at how you look to others while you are profusely sweating at the gym doing good cardio I really wouldn't worry about it.

That's what people working out at the gym are supposed to look like!

I used to complain about sweating a lot like you, but then I took a getting-to-know-a-person-who-had-a-condition-where-she-couldn't-sweat-and-therefore-couldn't-really-do-much-physical-activity-because-she-could-die-from-too-much-bodily-heat, to the life.

    Love thy sweat, boi!

I forgot to say an important point, i dont have anymore fat to lose so im just doing cardio for my heart but i was wondering if it was still good to do that much cardio or if lowering it was better

BTW: Do any of you guys, who said sweat alot, wear light color shirt? was just wondering lol.. back in the days when i started running, i made the mistake of wearing a grey shirt  Embarrassed   i think its the worst color to wear if you sweat

I do not really care if I sweat as it's obvious when you do cardio. I'm wearing whats on kind of when indoor cardio or summer running. It's not like people are judging you from sweating Tongue

That cardio wont do harm to you. Cardio isn't done only for fat loss but ass you said it's for your cardiovascular health and performance, that's how I see it. How you do your cardio depends fully on your goals.

I have always been a heavy sweater, but when its 100F+ and the ladies are crying over the heat I can keep going. I just view it as my body has superior cooling abilities much like my father. I have a home gym but when I was a 15-16 I went to the gym with my grandfather and sweat like a pig. One thing that helped was a headband (backup in my pocket for long days) then I would cool down in the swimming pool after a quick shower. I wore white shirts mostly as Arkansas heat was pretty bad most years haha.
