There are other positive things about jump rope too. 1. I'm not living close to the forest so I have to drive for 5-10mins in order to make it to the forest. But with jumprope, I don't have to travel anywhere. 2. Jumprope just feels much easier, I rather do a interval at 85%-90%HR max for 2-3 mins with a jumprope than running. 3. If don't have a penny you can still exercise with a jumprope because you don't need shoes, but if you are going to run 45-60 min+ 4-5 days a week on hard surface I would recommend you to really make sure you have a nice pair of running shoes.
I'd recommend wearing some though cause that thing hurts like crazy if it hits your bare feet. Only tried it once barefoot and never again!
Well that is true, it is a good idea to wear some kind of shoe or thick sock in order to protect your feet. I actually did a session á 30 mins today, and the first 5 was without shoes, and damn did I get angry? Yes sir, I ran in rage down the stairs and put my old worn out shoes. What I meant was you don't need special running shoes. Nothing expensive.
