Hi All

I was getting ready for a body building contest.

my starting weight was 205 and i started to cycle my carbs to get down to my Lean Body mass of 175lbs

i reached 175lbs yesterday at 1% body fat according to the body fat calculator. but my learn mass has dropped to 172.8lbs!

i started doing cardio around 7 months ago and have lost on average around 1.25lb per week.
which consisted of 40 mins stationary bike. as progress slowed i upped to 40mins twice per day once in the morning and once in the evening.

my end result in the mirror is to say the least a little disappointing my abs are not as ripped as i would have expected to see them, and to add to the confusion most competing bodybuilders have a body fat percentage between 2 & 4 yet according to the calculator and skin fold measurements i'm at 1%

if anyone else would like to check the figures they are as follows

Scale Weight taken first thing in the morning before food or drink and after going to the toilet

175.2lbs

Age 27

Skinfold location: 1 = 2mm
skinfold location: 2=  4mm
Skinfold Location 3 = 2mm

see if you all get the same result as i have

1%bf
lean body mass 172.6
body fat 2.9 lbs
FFMI 21.7
---------------------------------------------------------

i have been following the meals on the carb cycling meal planner to the letter!! to the point where i feel sick as a parrot looking at the same food every day.

this is my question to you all is this. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?Huh??

i look forward to all your replies

Current calories per day are as follows as i have had to keep adjusting them as my weight has dropped

Low carb Day per meal

Calories per day 2751
Pro  51g
Carb 34g
Fat 12g

High Carb Day
Calories per day 3376
Pro  42g
Carb 70
Fat  12

As far as I know, below 10%, body fat calipers are not very accurate anymore.

Sorry, I cant help but say: congratulations you are still alive Cheesy. Do you have pictures of your near death self (sorry just kidding the bodyfat number)? Many people here developed pretty good bodyfat estimation skills through photos.

Do you measure your locations 1 times or 3 times (like pos 1 pos 2 pos 3 than pos 1 again pos 2 again and so on)? What are the locations?
There are methods with more than 3 points too. Maybe change the method and/or the caliper?

If I where you I would enter the contest (if it is not already in the past) anyway. You can learn many more things there than the mirror will tell you.

i take the measurement 3 times over, divide by 3 and use the average.

i've used a couple of different methods and near enough most of them return the same results or there abouts.

i've started to eat a little more carbs and get my self back up but i just dont look ripped enough, still got fat on my butt and around the lower part of my belly.

this is really frustrating as i can't seem to find the answer anywhere!!!!!

You aren't at 1% bodyfat. post a picture if you want an estimate.

Trying to understand what you are doing, you start 205 at 15%+BF, at what point did you start to carb cycle cause you`d need to be well under 10%, at 1% if you dried out I think you would end up on a drip, abs are probly holding water, phosphorous should spread that out. I`d suggest seeking out a pro or trainer near you and talk to them.

i agree with that your saying, all i can do is this

1 weigh myself first thing in the morning
2 take measurements using skin fold callipers
3 eneter the details into the online calculator

4 read the results from the calculator.

    what else can i do?
