Hello there!

Conny from Sweden here!

I have been crawling scoobys website for a few years from time to time and i always wanted to start getting "in order", because it would mean quite a lot for my self image and confidence. I have tried to get into it before but there is always some reason that it comes to a halt.

As it is at the moment im 181cm tall and weight 96kg(211lbs if my google-fu is correct) wich just seem... awefull. I want it gone!

But i don't know HOW! And i don't mean that i don't know what regular workouts there is but according to me i have a special case, wich is..

I have a sickness/syndrome/allergy that reacts to cold.. yes cold objects, air, water etc you name it. It can be +10(celsius) but with heavy wind and i still react to it, the reaction is anything between getting swollen and as far as death(wich i was near once when i bodytemperature went down around 32c temp). The way it works(i don't really know how to explain it correctly in english..) is that when i get warm/start to sweat and the body wants to vent out all that heat it never "closes" again, it just keeps venting wich lower my bodytemp in extreme cases. This more or less happends always when i go from something warm into something cold or atleast colder than where i was. Working out indoors is fine tho.

And with that knowledge i will also ad that i live in Sweden, at the moment its snow outside and quite cold wich keeps me from getting out jogging, wich just sucks.. i think that that's what often gets me cought offguard and makes me stop training. It sometimes feels like a lame excusse not to workout.. but its the harsh reality. Sad

I cant afford a gymcard either, at the moment im a student and i already turn every penny insideout to get myself around. This takes away the possibility to workout inside, atleast the running/jogging part. I have a set of dummbells(i think its what they are called yes?) but they don't really offer what i want here. Wink

So i more or less need tips on  losing fat that takes the above into account..

I try to eat "good", im a lacto-ovo vegetarian(i eat egg&milk produkts) but i guess that the pasta&potatoes are the culprits.

I could count callories, but what amount should i eat?

My main priorities are losing fat and gaining stamina more or less, the muscles are secondary(well i have muscles but they don't really shine through...)

Anyone have anything?

Thank you for the welcomeing!

Well the last thing he said was that i should handle the situations with not getting into them. Learn to read how my body is at the moment and plan accordingly. There is do meds for it and maybe it will "grow" away or it wont. They don't know since it kinda rare.

During high school the school payed for gym passes instead of outside activitys and now after when im bit older i try to jogg a lot during summer and good weather.

The "sickness" fluctuates, some days it's better and some days it's worse/more sensetive. Some days i cant drink cold water in the summer some days i can take a longer walk even if its -5c outside(even if i shouldnt..)

I started to go up and walk 40min before breakfast wich went good until the fall/winter came along and i atleast felt healthier and had more energy. But now i cant and having a downtime that spans half of the year feels bad.

so you have an allergic reaction to the cold weather but otherwise your body is ok after indoor exercise?

you could do great cardio doing HIIT /tabata training.

the key is you carefully monitor your exercise total time, and heart rate to gauge exactly how your body reacts. gradually increase your time as you see your body can handle it.
a jump rope is another cheap and very effective tool you can add to your routine.
also you should keep an "epi" pen on you or immediately available to you at all times.

your diet is even more critical if you can't go crazy doing intense physical activity.

use scooby's calorie calculator and monitor intake and tdee closely!
introduce healthier substitutions for potatoes and pasta- you will develop a taste for them in no time. it's important that you don't go on drastic crash diets: gradually decrease bad foods as you increase the good ones.
but do avoid all fried foods like the plague- they will quickly undo all the hard work your putting in your workouts.

has your doctor recommended any of the newer antihistamines?
they may work at improving your symptoms significantly.
you can always get off them during the warmer months.

My body is ok when doing exercise indoors at a normal roomtemperature.

I looked at some tabata videos and it looks interesting i must say!

I guess that there is tools to measure your heartrate or is having my fiancé checking my puls ok?
My doctor never said anything about antihistamines, i think that we talked about epi pen but im also allergic to a form of penecilin and acetylsalicylic acid and if i recall correctly
an epi pen's content have some of that in it. But i will contact them about the antihistamines!

Do you recommend any specifik substitute to potatoes and pasta? As it is right now i eat potatoes at max 3 times a month(love mashed potatoes XD) and full grain pasta more or less 3-4 days in a week.
I also eat rice a lot, have been thinking of going more into full grain bulgur.

To that i often(well.. almost always) eat some kind of quorn product.

And i eat eggs as often as i can just becouse i love it... and i also heard that it contains a lot of protein. ^^

So i guess chips, fried french fries and that stuff is out of the window.. oh how i do love fries.. but i love myself more. Wink

I checked the calculator and it says that i should eat about 509 calories per meal and with 4 meals thats 2036 in a day, sounds like a lot? A friend of mine said that i probably should aim at around 1600 cals
in a day to moderatly loose weight. And he also insist that its important to have small goals.

And at the moment i have 3 "small" goals.. and that's going from 96 => 90 => 85 => 80. Seeing it as 5kg parts instead of 16kg of raw weight make it seem more easy. XD

Thanks for taking your time to help out!
