Hi guys,

I have been working out for about 16 months now and have been reasonably happy with the results in strength and mass but my body fat hasn't moved at all in the entire time.

About me:
I am currently following Wolf's Weightlifting Option 3.
Age: 22
Weight: 88.kg (194lbs)
Height: 6ft (183cm)
Bodyfat ~15%
My diet is strict (with correct macros) eating 5-6 meals per day, lots of chicken, pasta, whole grains, milk etc
Current intake is 2495 calories (reduced from around 2800) but have seen no drop in body fat % in the last month.

Now my question is, if I drop my calories even further to say 2300/2250 am I going to start loosing strength/muscle and mass as that figure seems rather low especially for my height/weight It's around a 20% reduction according to scoobies calculator. My main goal is to build mass, but I am also looking to drop my bodyfat down to around 10% which I hoped would happen with the calorie reduction (over many months of course)

Any help appreciated Smiley

Up activity instead of cutting calories. Most likely you've slacked off or your body has adjusted to your workouts. I've had nothing but negative results from cutting calories further.

Good point! Since you are doing a lifting routine, you want to make sure you're getting the nutrients to recover and rebuild. Check out my other post about losing body fat, this worked for me and should help you out:

Cheers guys for your responses, very helpful!

Would you recommened I keep my calorie intake at 2495 calories (10% reduction), or would it be more benificial to add a few more calories due to the extra HIIT training I will be doing?

Thanks again Smiley

As with anything else, you do not want to change too many things at once. Try keeping the calorie intake as it is and see how your body responds to HIIT and only then adjust as you feel fit.

Cheers Skorpiozi!! I will keep my calorie intake at the same level for a good few weeks and see how things go. I think I will head off to the gym now for a HIIT session Smiley
