hello all

A while back i got seriously sick and life issues got in the way of my running schedule. I didn't run at all for about 2 months and when i came back to the gym, i realized that my endurance level is not what it used to be. Back then i used to run 15 minutes a day, getting me to 2.7 km a day.

Now I am trying to run regularly again. i noticed that i got considerably slower. On good days, i could not last any longer than 12 minutes. On bad days, not even more than 8. Why i have to stop running? about 6-7 minutes into my run, i start feeling this burning pain that strangely only comes up in the front of my right leg. The pain gets worse the heavier my paces are. The pain gets so bad the longer i try to keep running, to the point that i have to slow down and walk, ending the run.

I dont remember experiencing this sort of pain back in my running days. Not even when i started off (probably because i started off at really slow manageable speeds)

Is it normal to experience this pain and loss of endurance after 2 months of not running? If so, is there a method to get rid of the pain and be able to run like how i used to? sorry for the beginner question.

cheers. Grin Smiley Cheesy

Suggest you stop for a while and maybe swap to swimming until your leg gets better.
