thanks for the info guys, so its mainly a msucle control exercise more than anything. The site states that you can drop a few inches off your midsection, is this true? Or do you only appear to have lost weight cuz your abs are being held in?

Training a certain body area does NOT cause fat loss from that area - a myth, in fact if anything it'll get bigger from muscle growth.

However, the stomach vacuum does give the appearance of a leaner stomach as it becomes natural for you to hold it in normally. It is merely appearance, but not an illusion or anything (like wearing dark clothes for example to remove the appearance of excess); it is beneficial to everyday posture.

I forgot to post about how I felt after I did this. Since we went on a small vacation last weekend, the car trip was like 8 hours almost I did it for around 6 hours straight. I got out of the car and my stomach felt pretty weird I must say, and I did feel a small burn and they felt slightly harder from being held in for so long. I did it again yesterday and I think it might be able to help, it actually takes quite a bit of effort to do it like 12 times for 12 seconds, it starts to burn if u really suck it in.

I blow out most of the air from my lungs, and then suck in my abs, flexing them at the same time, and hold that for 12 seconds.

Try completely exhaling Macca then hold your breath you can really do the vacuum then. Man I look like a skeleton when I do it and I'm not even thin it's fun.
