would something like 20min a day kettlebell workout be too much? in the sense that its a sort of weight lifting, just wondering if it could lead to over training.

Oh no, 20 minutes a day is not over training. 30-45 minutes would be great. I've been using kettlebells for a little over a year now, and they are great! What pound one(s) do you have? I have a 40 and 35lb.
