currently, i am on week 3 of my couch to 5k program. Practically everyday, about 10 minutes into my run, i feel pain in my leg. so the pain is basically where i flex my foot up as i am running. I do not know how to explain where exactly it is, but i will try. Do you know where the achillis heel is? Well , do a 180 around it, and you are in front. then flex your foot up and now you feel the tendon. thats where the pain is everytime i run. How do i avoid this or work it out better?

Like burning kinda pain? If so it might due to inactive lifestyle to active lifestyle and you're overstraining your joint.

Are you having rest days in between your runs as you're starting out? When I was running longer runs daily(Over 10km's) I was experiencing burning kinda pain in my achilles tendon after few kilometers of running. Didn't occur in faster runs as the faster I ran the less calves needed to work.

Are you overweight? 1kg more of weight makes running a lot stressful as you're taking thousands of steps.

Avoid this? Starting slowly(with walking preferably), having a lot of rest between and gradually increasing distance and speed. Loosing weight. Improving running technique.

All in all it took me year or two to really get used to distance running.

with the program, i run every other day and it has breaks in the run. But i guess it is because of the fact that I am over weight. but is there any excerise i can do to reduce the pain?

Well try taking 2 days in between and see if it still occurs or try running a bit differently when you get the pain and see if doesn't hurt
