I know I could Google it but I like finding out from you guys.  So why does working out and doing cardio actually give you energy for the day?  I know that I always feel great after I work out and I'm always so much more energetic for the day when I work out in the morning.  But why does the body get full of energy after a hard workout when you would think that you'd be exhausted because you put forth so much effort in the gym.

Increased blood flow (oxygen, water) to brain and other organs- especially compared to sleeping/restful state.
