I'd like to make something very clear: I don't have rage. I'm a happy guy. You see this face? This is a happy face. You'd all be lucky to be as happy as I am.

Alright I didn't want to start a new thread so I figured I would ask on here. Here is my situation:
I have been taking creatine for a couple weeks. Basically I got it just to try it out and have been using it correctly. I have been hydrating perfectly and obviously the creatine soaks up a lot of extra water. However, my problem is that at night, I now wake up 2-3 times in the middle of my sleep just to go pee. I have never had this problem before taking creatine. In addition, I have completely stopped eating and drinking THREE hours before I go to sleep and I still end up waking up 2-3 times in the middle of my deep sleep to get up to pee.
I know that creatine is providing some benefit to me allowing me to lift a little bit more. But at the same time, I feel like sleep is very important to gaining muscle and my important deep sleep is getting interrupted. Yes, I do go back to sleep and end up getting about 7 hours. But 7 hours with three interruptions feels a lot different than 7 SOLID hours of sleep through the whole night. I don't feel as refreshed in the morning when I get up to go to the bathroom 3 times in the night.
and like I said, I've tried not eating or drinking anything for three hours before sleep, which seems more than enough.
So my question is: Should I give up on the creatine and try to get my solid sleep because sleep benefits are more important than the creatine benefits? Any other suggestions or solutions?

2-3 times a night to pee? Something isn't right there. Either you drink way too much fluids during the day or something else is going on there. I drink 4-5L of fluid a day and typically only get up once for a mid-sleep tinkle.
How often do you have to urinate during the day? Every hour or two all day every day? If so, that's a common symptom of diabetes.....

it certainly isnt diabetes. its definitely due to the creatine holding more water in my body longer. this never ever happened before i started taking creatine. and yes, i do drink a lot of liquids during the day...but still you would think that stopping my food and liquid intake 3 hours before bed would stop that problem.

For one thing i'd stick to the powder rather than tabs in future purely due to cost.
For another, i'm not a fan of Holland and Barrett (most things overpriced, and they sell/advertise a wide range of "natural slimming pills" and other crap that will do jack but sounds all healthy and tricks people into parting with hard earned cash).
If you wish to start taking creatine (which I would have thought you'd want to do after you've lost a little more weight - congratulations on that large loss so far by the way!), I would suggest taking the 6 capsules either first thing in the morning, or 3 first thing, 3 post-training. I would have thought that after the first week of supplementation you could drop down to 3-4 capsules a day and still remain supplemented; however due to your current size you may wish to continue taking 6/day.
holland and barrett are doing a sale at the moment any good? http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product.asp?promo=1&sid=2

The place I buy creatine from(myprotein.com) sells 1kg of creatine monohydrate for £14.29(sometimes you can get better when they have a special offer/sale). Considering that, I would say that Holland and Barrett is a terrible place to get creatine from.

I've upped Owen's opinion. :p Holland and Barrett is aweful; misleading information, uninformed staff, prices jumped up exponentionally from actual product cost, etc....

I can honestly say I used it for a solid 2 years, and while it definitely increased my strength (I don't even want to say how much I added to bench) it made me feel horrible most of the time. For some reason I got a fever often, felt nauseous, and had a problem with the runs while on it. I definitely won't use it in the future, as I felt as if a lot of the weigh I had gained had come off after a few months away from it.

Well, this surely explains me p-ing 6 times at night and waking up 2kgs lighter.
I'll just go and take the dose in the morn. The only good time to separate from my coffee intake as well.
Oh, and then there's still the gas. It's way less than the first time I tried the stuff. Dissolving it into hot tap water works well. And no/hardly any heart problems so far.
But hey, the occasional sulfur fart from hell isn't bad. My workouts have improved. It seems my recovery time has improved as well.

I'm glad you're seeing improvement Sir Round. I was thinking about adding an update to the FAQ sometime soon, think as it seems to be a consensus the higher the solubility of the creatine the less wind results from taking it!!
