So if you stop taking creatine you'll stop retaining water?? or looking "chubby"??

Does the water store in the muscles or all around the body?
Becuase i dont really find myself "chubby" during creatine, only bigger.
I also find myself more defined whilst not using creatine...

so you retain water everywhere?

I have been discussing this at the Adonis index forum and the nutrition experts
(Brad Pilon .yes the dude who wrote Eat Stop Eat )
there says that the water stays in the muscles. And he  should know he has an degree on this .

Great post, learned a lot.
I had heard from a few people that when you stop taking creatine you lose about half of your acquired gains in mass and strength.
Good to see that these are blown entirely out of proportion.

Quick question.

Anything bad can happen if you take a creatine that says "Best consumed before 1 month ago"?

I have to throw it in the garbage or is it still usable?

Everyone keeps saying different things through these posts.  Tongue
Makes it very hard to get a straight answer.

My protein powder has 3g creatine per serving so I'm taking 6g total per day.

So 1) Should I alternate this powder (finish it) with another that doesn't have creatine? Because some people are saying the body adapts and it loses it's effectiveness if you just stay on it over time. So I would go back and forth, would probably be about a month each, or every 3 weeks, that's usually how long my powders last.

And 2) As to what happens if I stopped taking it. I'm not just gonna get all weak and scrawny right? lol I know that the muscles swell on creatine, so when I stop taking it, they will shrink back down a little, but it should still leave me bigger than if I had not taken it at all right? And same with strength? Because even if it's a small benefit, then sure, I'll take it, but not if when I stop taking it, i'm going to be the same as if I'd never taken it. (sorry, shitty wording)

Sorry if this has already been answered but I've bought some Creatine and the tub says that I should mix 5g with 500ml of water.
Is it ok to mix the same amount of Creatine with less water?
It tastes so horrible that I'd rather just drink it as fast as possible (maybe mix 5g Creatine with 250ml of water?) and get back to regular water.

Will it make any difference if I mix 5g of Creatine with 250ml of water rather than 500ml?

    Thank you

Actually yes for two reasons. Creatine disolves in water if there is not enought water it will not fully disolve and it wl be grainy which some people attribute to indigestion if consumed.

Second the body needs water to use creatine. If it does not have enought it will be like dehydration.

So if you don't like the taste mix it with something else than water. Try tea coffee or a smoothie. Make sure to drink plenty of liquids during the day to avoid be dehydrated.

Getting thoroughly frustrated with this FAQ's outdatedness and relevance.

The full update of this is now my major spare-time-project, using my latest (very very handy) tool - evernote - with which I have been saving and compiling interesting articles for some time now...

I have been taking creatine on and off and now only take it during the weekends because it definitely makes me very sleepy.  I came to believe that it only affects some people and I happen to be the unlucky person.
