I asked one of the trainers at the gym whether a home cooked pasta meal would be fine for dinner after a workout and he replied that if I intend to get ripped 6 pack abs that I cannot consume any carbs and if so it must be low intake. Is this true because I'm finding it hard. I'm starting to see some results but I don't want to ruin the hard work by consuming foods I'm not to sure about.
Thanks.

It's untrue, continue to eat carbs. Some people don't function well on high carb diets however most people will and if you've never experienced any problems eating carbs then continue to do so. To lose fat simply eat under your TDEE.

make sure to get enough and balanced nutrition from the diet..even though you have to eat under your TDEE,that's most important...

I read many articles on carbs post workout and like always there's some pros and cons.

Many people say that an insulin spike ( due to carb intake) will certainly lower your growth hormone ( which builds muscle) and therefore carbs should be consumed pre workout. Other say that carbs post workout are crucial for muscle building because your body will use them carbs to rebuild muscle thus sparing protein.

I found out recently that my body doesn't work well on a high carb diet so I just consume them pre workout. But then again your body might feel good on a low fat diet, you just need to try and see what works best Wink
