I am trying to lose some fat to get my 6 pack, (I am close), so I try to cheat every other day. I used to have a big ol' piece of cake every day and about 1 soda everyday. Now I try to have a middle-sized piece of cake and a soda every-other-day

Its difficult to say for me sometimes because I have two areas in my diet I am trying to improve. I am trying to burn fat and gain muscle. This is my challenge as well, which is why I am trying to eliminate any cheat meals (good luck with that, huh?). Whenever I cheat, I CHEAT to an extreme, which means that I usually have to go many hours without eating again. This will obviously rob my body of the necessary protein needed for muscle repair, and will lead to the storage of fat due to an immense load of calories (most of which are from fat). I struggle in seeing the logic to cheating now, mainly because it only frustrates me (deters me from my primary focus: to obtain my ideal body). I have not cheated at all since Thanksgiving (oh, that was a dreadful experience-absolutely horrendous). On Thanksgiving, I ate so much food that I was not able to eat again for about 8 hours. I am trying to perceive food differently-slowly but surely.

i dont see why when people pig out the get all ashamed about it and try to make up for it with excessive cardio, its kind of obsessive. you have to be allowed to enjoy what you eat, and in some ways live a little. you cant be constantly tied up in this healthy routine otherwise you'll go mad. i dont know many people who dont want to cheat, infact i dont know any at all. if your happy with your weight, then theres no need to worry. just lift your weights, do your cardio to keep your heart healthy, get your protein requirements and if you fancy eating someone like a chocolate bar, eat it, dont restrict yourself, remember your a healthy weight, your normal, your not overweight. just obviously dont spend every day binging on 5000 calories. once a week for those who are trying to lose weight is good, it gives you an incentive to stick to your diet knowing theres a reward at the end, helps keep you focused and stops those cravings

I usually cheat once or twice a week. Keeps me motivated ^^ But the strange thing is, I know a lot of ripped and muscular people, but nobody of them even spend a thought about nutrition. They eat whatever they want, there muscles grow like hell and they keep there six packs. Maybe you don't have to be that strict with your diet at all, because I still think that Working out > Nutrition Your muscles won't grow because you eat protein all day, they ONLY grow because you work out. Don't get me wrong, if you are overweight and you are trying to loose weight, you should be more strict in my opinion. But if you just want to add muscles, there no need to stay away from all that tasty foods all the time. And scooby says on his website: "After about 5 years of bodybuilding I had plateaued, I was only eating 3 meals a day and all the protein came in dinner." I mean, how did scooby look after that 5 years? (5 years of bodybuilding - just think about it, that's a really long time) I bet he wasn't skinny Your muscles even grow if you don't have this extreme strict lifestyle, so I would rather enjoy life a bit more than always say "no" to all tasty foods. But that's just my opinion. Greetings, Lars

Buddy, you can workout eat garbage food and get no gains. Why do you think so much people start off and they quit, they diets suck. Those guys you see with six packs; they have no muscles just ripped from eating McDonalds once a day. Ask anyone who works out seriously NUTRITION > working out. Your muscles grow after a workout, when you are resting hence the fact of getting enough protein and vitamins and minerals to allow them to grow.
