Great post!
I dont plan on lifting this month, so what should my diet be? Is it necessary to have the same amount of protein i was having while lifting? Are there chances i can lose some muscle mass this month?

Yes you should still get the same levels of protein, there is always a possibility even any month your not fasting- just happens by not paying attention to the diet (frequent poor meal choices will lead to muscle loss).

Stickied at the top of the forum we have a topic about Ramadan.
    http://www.askscooby.com/nutrition/muslims-nutrition-in-the-holy-month-of-ramadan-%29/
You should calculate your TDEE, chose what rate of fat loss you want (500 calories below your TDEE is a good rate), and then split that number to give each of your meals an even amount. So yes, if you cannot eat that often, your meals can be big.

I'm planning to eat approx 3 meals in Ramadan myself. One at Suhoor, one at iftar and one at dinner. I doubt i'll be able to stuff myself at iftar though because i dont want to feel hungry for dinner at midnight, and besides, thats not really good for you Smiley

As for how much to eat, you can follow the advice of the poster above and calculate your TDEE, then shoot for a 500 calorie deficit. Divide your portions accordingly. If you can manage 4 meals a day, even better, but Maghrib is quite late in my region this year and therefore i wont be able to pack in 3 meals after breaking my fast.

When I lived in Thailand there were two Muslim families on my Soi (Street). Being invited to one of their weddings was a real treat. Great Food !

Thanks OP for this post! really informative and helpful, I was taking a break this month since it's like only 8 hours available to have normal eating habbits, so I went to easy cardio and not restricted diet.

Also must thank you EvilCyber for bring it back again Smiley

    Great advice and help.  Grin

Personally I think if your average weight you shouldn't be too focused on losing weight, because when you do sit-ups you lose a bit of weight then and you really shouldn't be dieting too much.

This is great help to all our Muslim brothers and non Muslim brothers.  Cool  Roll Eyes
