Protein shakes won't make you bigger. If you want to get more muscular you have to observe your fat, car, and protein intake. If you are adding the protein powder for extra calories yes it will help up your calories.

I'm assuming you have trouble adding weight, and you are just looking to get a caloric surplus. I'll go ahead and recommend adding any of the following;
-Peanut butter -Chocolate sauce -Caramel sauce
Or all three and it'll taste like a damn Snickers. Any of those three will add a significant number of calories to any protein shake, and the price per calorie is very low for all of them, particularly peanut butter/chocolate.

You could replace one of the two shakes a day with a small healthy meal. Check out scooby's recipes , it's much more effective. Good luck !

And this x2. Add like hershey syrup, maple syrup, different sauces etc to bump up calories. Add more whey and peanut butter as well.

Because , Pwnage , the protein powder is a suplement and you don't need to take suplements if you get all your requirements in your regular meals. I personally find it much better that way + i never had protein powder in my life and i have amazing results.

Take some creatine, whey and preworkout and your gains will increase by 10%. Why would he want to do that?
