On a 300 deficit, no....would take a much larger deficit than that. Unless you are insanely low BF (<5%) your fine...

calories are too important u need em to make and maintain muscle. i made the mistake of only worrying about protein intake that i ignored carbs fats and most importantly calories, my gains suffered, dont make the same mistake as me.

Well, on the leangains program, they eat 20% surplus workout days, and 20% deficit non workout days, and the people that participate in this program seem to gain loads of strength, and lose fat... Testing it out for myself... When I shed some holiday poundage.

RE-HE-HEALLY?!? i just looked thru the website looks straight foward but man fast thru the night and morning and only take branched amino acid supplements while fasting? then shows more supplements to take seems like a lot of bs. let me know how it works out for you, i kinda want to try it out to see, but it just dont seem like it will work for me personally.

Thats only for those who do fasted training, which is not required to be considered IF or even leangains IF, simply an option. But checking the progress diaries of those who have done it, they've made progress. Personally, I do one meal pre workout, because I have no supplements on hand, nor resources to acquire them. I am however gaining good strengthon IF as it is, unfortunately my weak will power (suffered from this growing up) and lack of discipline got a hold of me over the holidays, and well, gained 5 pounds or so... Used the program for cutting this fall, and even cutting more than 20% of my calories (probably why holidays were a fail), retained most of my mass and strength. Been also getting way faster on my runs. Point being, though I'm glad for your skepticism, don't be so quick to discount info. Took me a good while of reading to decide if this program was legit, used to be like you, this guy is crazy, this won't work, then I read up on the evidence, and considered my lack of evidence, still with skepticism, tried it out.

well the knowledge  I have is conflicting scooby and martin are very close scooby says you don't have to eat surplus even on workout (one of his videos on how body uses calories) since muscles only use 10% of the intake . martin says that deficit doesn't hurt but gains. ..

On such a low deficit you won't lose muscle. You will lose a little bit of fat, some glycogen. But its rare to build muscle on a calorie deficient diet - A good rule of thumb is to add 100 calories from your maintenance until you start seeing some gains.

Anyways, I do believe one can definitely gain muscle, especially those trainees who have less than 2-3 years experience, on a 10-15% deficit average, assuming one gets sleep, proteins etc, it's just that the gains come slower, and energy levels will be less. Highly trained athletes can still build muscle at a 5-10%, just, the gains will be slowed to unnoticeable rates, unless we are talking perfect storms. But definetly, Hypercaloric circumstances are best, assuming the correct macronutrient ratios are consumed, with a good workout routine.
