Hello Scooby and all other users,

What do you think about these people wo are real-"hardcore"-vegans, who just eat raw foods. I mean "eat", you always hear about "green-smoothies".

Today there is protein powders from "raw-food", too. It contains e.g. protein from peas, rice, cranbeery and/or hemp.

These people often tell something about, that when you eat a "heavy" cooked meal, like steak and other stuff, you stomach uses about 70% of you energy. I know that if I ate something big, I am very tired for some hours, so It could be a little bit true or ? Or maybe its not 70% of the energy, but it seems logic that a liquified food is easier to digest. And when its uncooked , 100% of all nutrients remain.

So, if I look at this, and think about that: I just eat these raw foods, 100% healty, 100% nutrients, vitamins and just the best of fat + raw-food protein powder = Super-power-mega-healty-bodybuilder ?
(Of course good training is required, but I dont talk about that)

I now remember something else, they use examples of animals like a gorilla. They just eat plants and are superstrong...Hans would say: "They are build to just eat plants, we humans are not!", so I would say "Humans are build to survive" so we can eat everything...but do we have to ?

Please let me know what you think about this whole raw-food thing and keep up with you great great work and guys keep up with this forum  !

greetings

veggies and other fibrous carbs are known as locked calories because our bodies cannot break those foods easly. it is believed in THEORY that our now useless appendix once had an enzyme to break down these fibrous carbs but since these last 30-50 thousand years humans have been on a mostly strict meat or grain diet that enzyme is now gone. i do believe raw foods has some benefits after all its a known way to kick cancer's ass!! but going 100% raw? thats just over doing it. and also comparing us to gorillas? a gorilla is a whole different genetic make up, with a whole bunch of generations of evolution to survive their environment and a gorilla will eat meat if theres no plants around to eat, for example gorillas in captivity. but anyways as for body building and veganism it can be done for sure opposed to what the majority of people here would say. i made great gains the past 2 years with a lot of cardio and on a 90-95% (eggs or sweet whey as the 5-10%) plant based diet. in short what im trying to say here is incorporating a raw based plant diet with your cooked meals is beneficial, so the next time youre eating spaghetti and a chicken breast add a small side dish of raw salad there too.
