Hey guys, just wondering how beneficial or even important it is to consume simple carbs in the morning? I've read that over night we lose about 80% of our glycogen, wouldn't it be good to replenish it quickly by eating a fruit in the morning? Many people (me included) get their protein from protein powder for breakfast as well, in order to provide our muscles with the amino acids quickly so I assume doing the same with fruits could be quite wise too, couldn't it?

My breakfast consists of a glass of protein powder, oats and a banana, however, I mostly use the banana for flavoring, as stuffing factor and as a tool of kick starting my way. And I definitely can use those extra 100 calories. So now I'm just wondering if the simple carbs are beneficial/important for replacing glycogen or is the carbs of the oats enough, even tho they're complex ones?

Oh and don't worry, I won't omit the banana if the simple carbs aren't necessary, a fruit in the morning still is a very good thing to eat I guess Wink

    Thanks!

Your breakfast is perfect, dont change it.

You migth want to add healthy  fats such as almonds or flax seed, but this are optional.

Congratualions, you are on the rigth track Wink
