Hello everyone! Long time no see! Sorry about being away for so long.
During my absence here, I've been working out for contest prep and I've just won in Tokyo Open 2013, novice for Tokyo area bodybuilders. And I'm planning to participate in coming Tokyo Weight Category and Japan Weight Category. And probably Miss Tokyo, too.
I would like to exchange opinions and insights about serious bodybuilding and contest prepp on this forum.
I hope to hear from many of you and let's have fun prepping for contests!

It's largely an influence from intermittent fasting community. Scientifically, meal frequency doesn't play big part in either muscle gaining nor fat losing...
However, I like six small meals day. Old fashioned? It works for me. And fitness is about finding what works for you.
please enjoy your journey!

Nutrition / Nutrition / Re: Low fat Milk powder as a source of proteins

A little more question: doesn't powder milk contain too much minerals? Are they dangerous? O.o
Dehydration process increases sodium or minerals like dried fruits, it cannot be helped :'( If you're concerned, you have to choose bottled low fat milk but it's not very convenient to carry around... I got tired of artificially sweetened protein powder and now am carrying dried milk powder... And it's not one and only resource of my protein anyway. I would say choose lesser evil, and read the nutrition label well to meet your daily nutrition budget. And nothing beats real food like milk, chicken, egg, bean and veggie anyway... BTW, Too much sodium is bad for health and keeps you retain water but... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14974053Effects of low sodium diet versus high sodium diet on blood pressure, renin, aldosterone, catecholamines, cholesterols, and triglyceride. We need some sodium to stay healthy and keep body fat low. Unless you have high blood pressure problem, please try to meet daily sodium budget. Don't go too low sodium diet...

I'm sorry, but it pisses me off when lies are spread and taken as fact, I value truth.
Hummm, you're calling me liar... You know there's no truth. Just facts and what you see... Only religious people think there is a truth. I accept the facts that lean gain works for some people. But is it the only truth??? Well, you can call me a liar. Fine... Opinions can differ...

No one says it doesn't work to eat 6 meals, it clearly does, but have you explored eating 2-4 times a day? That works too. When we say it's bro-science, it just means it's not scientifically or anecdotally proven to be necessary, while being dogma in fitness circles.
Yes I did try 1-4 times meals a day and this truly messed up my blood sugar. My doctor's suggestion is to eat 5 small meals a day with good quality protein/fat to stabilize blood sugar. I know lean gain works for some people. But I also know fasting can be very dangerous for some people like me. hooahfries, I see your point. However, please pay respect to those who follow other methods like I respect you. I guess as long as we eat clean and good food in correct TDEE should work regardless of number of meals. But how we eat cleanly with correct TDEE can differ... I use different strategy. That's all. Anyway, to Worry99. Please calculate your TDEE and understand how much you can eat a day. It takes a lot of efforts to eat correct TDEE. You need to measure, calculate and study food. But it's worth it. Please enjoy

Omatsu you are acting childish and not seeing clearly. now you say you have had enough so girls don`t have any board at all. it is ok to go into the mens room but not the other way, thats the equality you want...nuff said
Yeah, very kind, thoughtful and nosy guys like you are answering questions without reading the thread or understanding women's issues. What's the point in keeping this board??? I'm going away from this entire forum anyway. Please have fun making comments about what you don't know ore care to read.

I train alone in gym with guys staring at me, who lift heavier but whose arms and legs are smaller than me. How could I ask them a help? I'd rather help them lift well.It was my interpretation from this statement plus previous statements in other threads about bench pressing your bodyweight, I encourage women to lift and have done personal trainer over 30 years, you appear to be extreemly over sensitive, thick skins are needed on the net as well as the gym, men are boys and will stare at a pretty woman, try to keep little skin showing and it may not be that way. Ypu make it sound that you are too good for the people in the gym, can you find a better one?, you have done well so far Let's close this board immediately. I've had enough of stupid guys' comments. Stare pretty women??? Thank you so much.

Scooby,
I've completely changed my mind. Let's close women's fitness.
I see too many posts from men without reading or understanding women's issues.
I cannot put up with them any more. And what's good about having a women's fitness board when nosy impolite guys make comments???
You can keep it open but I'm walking away. I'm fully fed up.

Omatsu, there is no need for a spotter to be strong, when lifting alone you can lift until 2 reps before fail and it does not take long to learn, it works both ways, some don`t trust spotters but I see as a spotter not to trust a lifters ability, tho over the years I have learnt to tell when a lifter is failing. I work alone most days but when I want a spot generally when benching over 250lbs my wife does it and I don`t expect anymore than 5~10lbs help. Its rediculous to expect a spotter to upright row what you are bench pressing. Now comes commonsense, if you are maxing out for negatives then 2~3 spotters are needed for safety for them as well as the lifter. I have worked with many pros IFBB and NABBA who bench 400+ and to me it is a commonsense thing how to approach lifting heavy, learn where to stop with the equipment you got..cheers. just my 02
I'm not complaining about spotter. I don't need it and never wrote I want one. When did I say I want a spotter??? Here's another guy who doesn't care to read the whole thread. This is awful.

http://oldschooltrainer.com/bill-starrs-5-x-5-training/In the case of Little Sprite, I think he didn't mean to come off as rude. It's just that that's the point of view of a guy in a gym doing guy things. May be he didn't put into consideration what a girl might think or feel at the moment. It's what we guys do. Thus, makes us a bit like a brute, but that's why you love us. Hehe. peace peace. MercNil, I needed a while to calm down. But thank you so much. I train alone in gym with guys staring at me, who lift heavier but whose arms and legs are smaller than me. How could I ask them a help? I'd rather help them lift well. Anyway, for me, it's not a matter of shyness. I deal with different people from all over the world in several languages and absolutely have no problem in asking for help or favor. But as far as lifting is concerned, I will turn to Scooby or hire expensive professionals. I know bodybuilding is guy thing. But when you're surrounded by jerky horrible form local guys, and they stare me. What can I say? Sorry. I needed to blow off my steam. I will be peaceful. Thank you again.
