todays workout

deadlifts (shoeless)
100x8 100x6 100x6 +1 rep wanted a 7th but my body didn't lol, decided shoeless as i usually have my running shoes on where quite good rep as started abit above parallel each rep about 10 15 degree of angle over something like that

slcr
8x8 80x6 80x5 +1 rep

pull ups wide ass
8 8 5 + 1rep will be interesting how many i can do on my normal bar now lol

db incline press
24x8 24x7 24x5 +1rep so much easier getting to position now

bb shrugs
60x8 60x8 60x8 + 2reps

dips +12.5kg
6 6 6 mostly low enough for my liking except first one each time

preachers
12.5x6 12.5x4 125x4 getting closer to full reps

hanging knee raise
15 15 15

my right hand was being awesome after first set of deads it didn't want to reopen on its own lol.

well delayed my workout till today as xmas got in the way of my workout so off to the gym garage i went

'workout'
pull ups
8 8 8 pretty much a grease the groove action just made sure were full reps

chest press (on bro in laws machine)
3 of max weight x8 2 of max weight x8 max weight x 8 moves hands to top part and did 4 and 3 reps

military press
8.5x8 8.5x8 8.5x8 only had 17kg in total weight for db so just made sure full reps

tricep extension
8 8 8 idk of weight but what felt hard enough for me

chin ups +8.5kg
5 5 3 only half reps as could get the weight between feet right but arms where to 90 degrees

split leg squat + both db weights so 17kg on them
8 8 8

hanging knee raise
8 8 8

    8.5kg x8 x8 x8 why decline as that was the only angle the bench goes

    press ups
    14 10 10 could of done more but was doing them really slow and deep

    military press
    8.5kg x8 x8 x8

    8 8 4 was heavier then last time

    db calf raise with 17kg

    the big one is the swimathon in at end of april but there's plenty of small ones i can do between now and then if i fancy doing some running ones to keep my legs used to it but my weekly schedule is gonna look pretty packed for the next few months

    personal notes
    finished semester 1 of my uni i have 2 refers i know have to work on but do have a 3 week break now woot! should be doing a sports therapy course (1 evening a week) in feburary, booked 5 basic courses for coaching before i can do sport specific ones, and also booking a swimming analyse thing for january. so yeh i think january to april is gonna be as busy is the last 12 or so weeks if not more lol also will start swimming again in january to build up for the swimathon again.

    15kgx12 x12 x12 put some of my brother in laws weight on mine this was the max it could hold with the plates we have for the exercise pretty easy tbh

    military press
    15x4 x5 x3 standing ones = tougher

    tricep extensions
    8 8 5 same weight as last time watever it was Tongue

    db squat +15kg
    8 8 8 nice and low couldn't hold to db so just the one

    db calf raise +30kg (both db's)
    8 8 8

    ab rollout
    8 8 8

    only one more home workout still gym re opens Cheesy

    ok before i post todays workout (which will be similar to above) nothing special till the 3rd, i want to do my new year post.

    whilst i still have my long term fitness goals here are my goals for this year.
    -sub 2 hours 30 minutes for a triathlon
    -beat my previous swimathon time (5km) and do it under 1 hour 30 minutes
    -run a 10km in 40 minutes
    -run a 20km in 1 hour 40 minutes
    -db and bb bench press my body weight for reps (75kg)
    -deadlift over twice my weight for reps
    -become a lot more flexible
    -become more muscular
    -get the 6pac showing

    my non-fitness goals which can arguable be fitness goals are:
    -get paid work in a fitness environment either coaching, massaging idk exactly just so its a step closer leaving my current job
    -successful pass this years course and first semester for 2nd year (as this is for the whole year)
    -make sure i get all my studying work checked before handing them in (uglok has kindly helped me with this)
    -get shed loads of coaching qualifications done

    i'm sure there are other which will come up as the year goes but these are the current ones! anyway here my new years day photos!







    yeh i know epic fail on pose for last one but was like the forth attempt Tongue

    ok the gym has finally reopened today! and already spotted 2 or 3 big flaws in the fresh gym, the holy grail of the gym is missing the power rack, the proper dipping station is gone only has the assist one and the free weight section seems like a after though as another guy said. however apart from that is i ever wanted to go machine based weight training i am fine and i do like the new calf raise machine.

    anyway today's workout
    squat
    60x8 x8 x8 had to take the bar about 3m forward to do this as inside it could only go shoulder width wide at best.

    bb rows
    60x8 x7 x7 ok except hands getting hot (air conditioning not working in free weight part)

    good mornings
    60x8 x6 x5

    flat bb press
    50x6 x4 x4 not sure if its got i used the safety bits or how hot it was but couldn't do 3x8 hands were fairly sweaty as well

    military press
    bar only 3x8

    close grip bench
    30x8 x6 x4

    calf raise
    70x8 x6 x4 bigger range of motion, making its harder

    ez bar curls
    10x8 15x6 10x6 was seated with preacher bench weight is without bar weight

    didn't do an ab exercise  as wasn't any mats to put under nears for ab rollouts

    swimming pool was open but only the learner pool so i did about 10minutes, then tested my 50m speed which was miles under 1 minute about 50seconds i believe.

    new epic diary name so you can guess next event i will be focusing on now.

    first day in over 3 months of doing lengths and even longer since i did this amount of lengths

    100 lengths in under 54minutes with 2 break and couple of goggle sorting out (damn water), so i can pretty much say i haven't lost a step in the pool also all the strokes where front (not freestyle fu to guys who call it that Tongue) so yeh nice warm up swim Smiley
