Homemade, low-fat granola
4 cups old-fashioned (thick rolled) oatmeal, uncooked 1/4 cup slivered almonds and/or crushed walnuts 1 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon salt or No Salt substitute 1/4 cup honey (can be reduced to 1/8 cup if concerned about simple carbs) 1/4 cup apple juice 1 tablespoon canola, peanut, or walnut oil 1/2 cup raisins or dried berries (optional but tasty)
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Stir together oatmeal, nuts, cinnamon and salt, if desired, in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk honey, apple juice and vegetable oil; pour over oatmeal mixture and stir to coat thoroughly. Spread mixture in an even layer onto a 15x12-inch baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes, stirring twice during baking time. Cool mixture in the pan before adding fruit. Store granola in an airtight container. Eat plain or use as a topping for Greek yogurt.

Boiling water should last 6 hours in a good thermost. A truck is fill the thermost with the boiling water. Wait 5 minutes. And replace the hot water in the thermost with fresh boiling water. The first water will heat up the thermost and keep the second one much hotte much longer.

I just wanted to take the time to say the cookies turned out great and the recipe was real easy, but be sure to store them go to prevent them going bad.
It turns out i couldn't eat 3 1/2 dozen in a week and a half and they went bad. Next time i'll store them better.

Just put them in packages in the freezer, they'll keep for months!

Check the nutrition label it should say somehting like 1/2 cup (xx gram) per serving. I think 1 full cup is 100 grams but I can't remember.

I used to have a problem with the way oats tasted, but now i love them. i made 1/4 a cup of oats with 1/2 cup of water, heated it in microwave. then i checked how it tasted with things. i do not like it with cinammon ground. then i cheked my protein powder chocolate. it tastes great with chocolate protein powder. 1/2 cup of oats with 3/4 cup of water and 1 scoop protein powder is 260 calories of greatness. TRY IT OUT!
