Easy, but takes a little time.

I couldn't get any soy milk in my local store so I took some peeled soy beens from a local asian market and looked at some of the online recipes. There's a wide range of recipes so I concluded that messing up was actually pretty hard - as it turns out I was right.

100g of peeled soy beens
water

Let the beens soak in water overnight.
Pour away excess water.
blend with 3-3,5:1 water:been ratio
cook for 15 minutes
pour through cheesecloth
add vanilla or sugar (optional)

a) blend, cook, filter
I guess mine looked alot like this guy, but I did filter the milk afterwards through a cotton cloth.

b) blend, filter, cook

c) blend, cook, filter all at the same time

d) cook for 2 hours on low heat, blend, filter, cook for 15 minutes as hot as you can get away with.
(that's what my packaging said)

I'm going to try out variant b) next time, but I really did like mine. Tasted a lot better than the store-bought milk. Even unfiltered it was great, which makes me think that you can really push the protein/water water ratio. I can see myself doing this again with larger quantities, one liter is a lousy pay off for the time it took. Wink

My uncle actually does this. He buys giant bags of dry beans and makes soy milk all the time. He has a similar contraption to the third video. Much cheaper, but I'm not quite up for it yet. No room to store the beans... my 10lb bag of whey hogs enough space in our little kitchen Tongue
