After reading Scooby's caffeine article, I took the advice and set out to find some caffeine pills.
Quite simply, I can't seem to find them in my country so:

1. Is coffee a viable alternative?
and if so, how much coffee? Scooby recommends 3mg x kg of body weight so thats 3x my 75 kilos = 225mg, and I have no idea how much coffee has how much caffeine.

2. If I'm following the advanced workout plan (http://scoobysworkshop.com/advanced-workout-plan/) won't I develop a tolerance since I'll be working out nearly everyday?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure how much that is but Tea and Black coffee are caffeine alternatives. I prefer to just eat some fruit before I workout it works for me and wakes me up.

A strong cup of coffee is about 175-200mg caffeine.  Having a cup or two will do the ticket at your bodyweight.

I have developed a slight caffeine tolerance in my years of drinking coffee, so to get me revved up, I need about 500mg (I also weigh over 200lbs though).  It takes a while to develop a tolerance, though, and what you could do is only drink coffee before the most demanding workouts of the week.

One thing I've found with coffee is you really want to take it 40mins to an hour before your workout. I've found in the past, if I take it right before a workout I feel almost more tired.

Let the coffee settle in, then have a banana or any fruit really about 15-20mins before pumping the iron, and you'll be set.

Yes coffee is a viable alternative, its good but not quite as good as the dry pill form.  Do you have Starbucks? The only reason I ask is that since they are a franchise they standardize their product all over the world.  Im willing to guess a tall brewed coffee in Dubai has exactly the same caffiene content as a tall brewed coffee in Chicago, almost as good at dosing out caffiene accurately as a pill Smiley

Thanks Polished for the dosage range there! I needed a reply in milligrams like you gave me Cheesy
I'll definitely see how that works for me, agrelon. Thanks!
(Scooby's turn, try not to panic...)
Yes Scooby I have starbucks, but those kinds of places are a ripoff like you said especially if I'm going to use caffeine regularly, so I'll try making my own "strong" cup of coffee for now.
[Edit: until I get any of my friends in the states to get me some pills! Tongue]

    Thanks everyone!
