So I'm curious and am about to start using creatine for weightlifing because I'm trying to get big. (Universal's Creatine because the ingredients are the shortest and it seems safe and good quality) (I'm a %100 Natural Whey guy)
Anyways. I run, ALOT. Maybe about 4-5 miles a day @ a 6-7 minute pace.
Good or bad? Any alterated routine that I should take it?
Or not at all?
THANKS!

Depends on what your goals are for running. I had a similar situation. I lift weights and then do cardio. I was drinking my creatine between the weights and cardio and felt that all of the glucose in the formula was preventing me from burning body fat while doing cardio. Then I decided/was advised to drink the creatine after running.
So if your creatine has sugar in it and your goals are to lose or maintain leanness, you should take the stuff after running. If your lifting and cardio routines are separate you shouldn't have this problem, just drink the creatine after you lift weights. Also, if your goal isn't to lose/maintain body fat, but to be a competitive runner then don't worry about it, you will probably be fine getting that sugar spike before running, just make sure to drink water.

Zen's right - from what i've read it is better to take it after a workout/running. You don't really need to change anything concerning your routine.
The creatine itself should have pretty much no affect on the quality of your running - considering the distance it doesn't work like that. What you would find though is that your 100m sprint time improves.

Hey, that sounds like my running routine.
I'd be really careful about not becomming dehydrated while using creatine.

I have recently started taking creatine & last night I seemed to have some extra 'fuel' to burn burning 320 Cals in a 45 min treadmill run/jog compared to 250-280 cals I have previously been achieving. I found that when I switched from a jog to a run I was able to maintain the run for longer. Of course this could just be due to the fact I have been on the treadmill 45 mins/day for a week now and am probably getting fitter but its interesting that I have only been taking creatine for 3 days and I was suddenly able to find an extra burst of energy (to run for longer) that I didnt seem to have before. I also found this interesting article on the subject of creatine & endurance: http://bodybuilding.about.com/od/bodybuildingfaq/f/creatineaerobic.htm

Some qualification to this statement would be nice, otherwise I think it deserves to be completely ignored.

I would try a creatine blend after lifting weights, After running I would just try a good recovery drink with a 4:1 ratio.
