Correct me if im wrong but all creatine does is hold water in the muscles... If this is the case then taking a few hours before you lift to hydrate would have the same effectiveness as creatine. Normally i start hydrating at 9am and lift at 12am. And i have taken stats. When your dehydrated you muscles are not as big as if you were hydrated. So then all creatine does is makes sure you still have water in you muscles when your dehydrated right? So why pay for creatine when you could just hydrate?!?!?!

ok so i guess is also prolongs endurance but so does caffeine for short periods of time ( about an hour ). So then water and caffeine would be another option other than creatine?

Or it could be from phosphocreatine donating it's phosphate group to adenosine diphosphate.

Creatine definitely works...I have gone off creatine a few times in my journey and, the burning feeling comes in quickly, and you struggle much harder to push the last rep if you even can. I keep detailed logs of every one of my workouts and it shows there as well
for example
lets say I did 50lbsx10 reps on creatine then I got off creatine completely the next week I would be like this, 50lbsx8 reps barely..while my muscles burn like a b*tch

Thanks for being the only one to explain things... I have a few questions tho... When you state that you completely go off creatine then next week lift again... If im not mistaken creatine takes 30 days to completely leave the body... So if it was just the next week you should still have creatine in your system. I myself have used creatine multiple times and this is what i got. for example With water and caffeine i can curl 65x8 reps... that night i start a creatine cycle and when i work out my biceps a week later it remained the same! Of course it went up after a couple weeks of heavy lifting. Feel free to try this experiment yourself and let me know what your results are. But for me they both preform the same!

Yeah there's a mental edge to it as well, once you stop taking creatine it's still in your body for a while, but the user suddenly thinks they are weaker, so they are. It takes several weeks to lose the extra levels, depending on how much red meat you're eating which is where you normally get creatine. It allows you to do more work/reps, so that gives the potential for better gains if you put it to use.

I don't believe that's the aftermath of coming off creatine as the op said, creatine takes 30 days to completely leave the body. If you stopped working out for a week, it could just be a temporary loss in strength, something i experienced when i stopped 2 months of lifting weights.

Did you read something about creatine before posting this? First of all it holds water in muscles (some believe it increases protein synthesis in muscles, it holds more when you consume creatine than without it) Then most important it helps to restore ATP between sets so you can get more reps. It's not about hydrating you, it's someway opposite, you need to drink more water to stay hydrated than when you don't use creatine. And it works for me, not big difference but I can get additional 1-2 reps per set.(Not all sets tho).

It took me two months to come off creatine. 1 month, 2 months, etc... My point was that the after effect of coming off creatine (strength loss) will not be obvious within the first few days of coming off creatine. But the effects of creatine, i'd say, is mostly a placebo effect. It's almost impossible to measure the gains from creatine intake since there are so many factors effecting your workout. For example, some days i might feel very motivated and energetic and could push an extra 2 reps, but on other days i can't because i'm just not mentally there... So my conclusion is to just take creatine, because study has shown that it does indeed help.
