I would first like to say hello to every one from the uk. I have been putting Scoobys information to good use and I am slowly losing my excess weight.

I only take two supplements which are protein and a over the counter ephedrine product. I would strongly discourage any one to use epedrine products, they are highly addictive and have numerous ill effects. My problem is that i have been taking ephedrine for 3 years now and can't train with out it. If I train with out ephedrine my work outs are far from intense. I would love to hear from other people as how they can maintain regular intense work outs with out any supplements. Dont get me wrong I dont munch large quantities of ephedrine all day long like some gym regulars I know but unfortunately like them I just cant seem to give it up.

So the moral of the story is stick to Scoobys advice you don't need to turn your body in to a chemical factory to achive good results neither do you need to spend vast amounts of money.

i only use protein powder and no other supplements. i maintain my intense workouts only out of motivation, i just love it that ive gained 10KG of muscles in the past year (and this is my first year). that just makes me so happy and it keeps me going. and little things on the side like compliments from other people on how i have grown, it all helps to stay dedicated to working out.

i dont know how big your muscles are but for example the first muscle ive seen grow was my chest. so one day i took a good look at myself and i saw my chest was alot bigger than before and that gives me a HUGE boost. then a few months after that i descided to check out my back a bit more and i noticed that my "lats" and "traps" http://images-cdn01.associatedcontent.com/image/A6775/67750/300_67750.jpg were alot bigger and that my back was no longer skin and bones. right now im working on triceps and generally getting bigger arms.

i just keep track of my progress once in a while and the results keeps me happy and stay motivated.

hope this helped Smiley

I have been training for nealy 10 years now, I find though as time goes on its harder to stay motivated. When i started training i was skinny at around 140 pounds I then reached around 230 pounds. I am now 210 pounds and reckon my lean weight would be around 190 pounds.

yeah its only been 1 year for me and i feel like i could go on untill i die. i can imagine that if you dont get any results for your work that you dont have motivation to go to the gym. i have a certain picture in my head of what i wanna look like and once ive achieved that i will cut down from 6 days to 3 days ech week to the gym just to maintain the muscle. and maybe find something to actually use the muscle for because ive always wanted to get good at some sports but i never had the body for it. i have no idea if you have the body you want already or something but if you wanna grow further maybe mix up your workout routine?

or like i said, find something fun to do with your muscle mass like some sports and maybe you get your spirit back up?

Try weaning yourself off the ephedrine very slowly, should make it easier.  Just decrease dosage by 10% each week and you should be able to get yourself off (10 weeks total to stop).

Ephedrine was banned here in the USA in 1994.  People were dying of heart attacks.

It is banned that's why most companies selling fat burners are now using alternatives like green tea extracts, caffeine(loads of it) and other ***edrine or whatever you call it. .

Ephedrine is banned here in the Uk as well. Though for some odd reason some supplement shops sell a product called eph25.

It contains .

Ingredients
Ephedrine 30mg
Caffeine 120mg
Aspirin 80mg
Narnegin 80mg

Dont know how they can get away with selling it.

I will try your advice Scooby and try a 10% drop over ten weeks.

I've been reading a lot about ephedrine and tbh it sounds no more dangerous than aspirin. Yes people have died from ephedrine, but many people die from taking aspirin as well. From what I hear the reason that people die on ephedrine is a because they are hyper sensitive to it and take gigantic doses, or do some kind of HIIT activity while on it. Every heard of alcohol poisoning? Take a large dose of alcohol and you are just as likely to die. Ephedrine can raise your blood pressure slightly which coupled with high intensity cardio may cause heart problems. Solution? Don't do HIIT on ECA. So clearly the ban on ephedrine is not motivated to protect the general public as from what I have read it actually has less complications then many drugs that are legally available and it seems that we have to follow the money on this one to see why it actually got banned.

Furthermore ephedrine is actually available OTC no questions asked in the form of bronkaid at your local CVS.

Ephedrine isn't banned in the UK, you can only buy it from pharmacies and in limited quantities.
A lot of OTC decongestants etc will contain Pseudoephedrine not ephedrine

Also, strong bump

Bronkaid has ephedrine sulfate which is the variety that is now banned.

Try weaning yourself off the ephedrine very slowly, should make it easier.  Just decrease dosage by 10% each week and you should be able to get yourself off (10 weeks total to stop).

Ephedrine was banned here in the USA in 1994.  People were dying of heart attacks.

I am really a huge fan of yours Scooby but I wanted to call you out a few mistakes that are surely due to misinformation because it seems that you have posted a similar sounding reply in another thread.

Ephedrine per se isn't illegal neither in the USA nor UK. If one were to look at the laws one would see that only ephedra was forbidden to be sold as supplement or additive in fat loss products. Ephedra is illegal ephedrine or it's better known pharmaceutical extract ephedrine hcl are still perfectly legal and are used for example in the so known Coast Guard Cocktail and can be bought over the counter in any pharmacy for that purpose as well as in order to cure asthma (ex Bronkaid) and many other uses. Also as a pure herb or tea, má huáng, containing ephedrine, is still sold legally in the USA.
Also it was officially banned from use in supplements and fat loss products only in 2004.

The ban was enacted more due to media pressure and to combat what people call meth (methamphetamine). Ephedrine and pseudoephedrine can be used to synthesise this drug in home conditions. A few deaths were exactly what was needed at that time.

Also most of the side effects were completely exaggerated by pseudo-analysis. Deaths were mostly due to overconsumption of said chemical which is not unexpected if people go by the stupid logic of more is better and for having completely ignored suggested dosage. And seriously if I were to look I would say that there are more deaths by water intoxication or by a huge margin by alcohol or cigarettes then by ephedrine.

If anyone is selling supplements with ephedrine in it I can assure you that it contains no active alkaloids so they are basically selling an ineffective and useless form of that drug. Bottom line don't buy it.

That said I agree with what Scooby's suggested. It seems indeed that you should gradually decrease. I believe you addiction is not only of chemical but also of psychological nature. Also using it just for increased intensity is really not intelligent. Even people using creatine do cycle it.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.
