Hey they say multi blends like syntha 6 , combat , myofusion , muscle infusion black , nitro core 24 etc feed your muscles with protein for next 6 hours , is that true ?

I had one big question in my mind for long time

Are multi blends better than normal whey protein ? As they are time release protein ?

I have tried few of them but I feel hungry 3 hours after taking them , as they feed my muscles for next 6 hours , I should not feel hungry for next 6 hours right ?

The price of multi blends and whey protein are almost the same but multi blends have less servings in them compared to whey

As I am vegetarian I can not eat protein food every 3 hours but I can eat protein foods like eggs and cottage cheese for only twice a day

In my case multi blends will be better option , am i right ? Or is whey protein good enough?

Multi blends have added vitamins in them and few have EFAs in them which is one positive site

I know I have posted a thread about myofusion a month back but I am not clear about this

LOOool Time Release...what a gimmick. I wouldn't worry about it too much...the difference is miniscule..just stick to your whey isolate post workout..if you're worried about time release protein, have a chicken breast..or have your whey in milk..milk is mostly casein..aka..'time release!'

There's no such thing as a "time-released" protein: no product will simply sit in your intestine being slowly absorbed.

However, when comparing a protein blend (TruTein, MyoFusion, Ultra Peptide 2.0) to something more specific like whey isolate (Ultra Peptide Whey, Gold Standard 100%) there are some benefits to both.

Pure whey isolate/concentrate will cause a rapid spike in amino acid levels in the bloodstream after consuming, which is good. However, they fall very rapidly (6 hours). This is because of rapid deamination of the amino acids and you could argue that it makes a whey isolate/concentrate product a poor choice [after working out or not; it doesn't matter.]

Blends with whey/casein don't cause as pronounced of an amino acid spike after ingestion, but the amino acids stay in the bloodstream longer, which you could say is favorable since having amino acids longer in the bloodstream potentially prolongs the net anabolic effects.

    Short answer: get a blend.

Either way, you shouldn't stress the choice too much.

i would say get a blend, only because they taste better, and i usually drink up to 3 shakes a day, i realize taking whey isolate makes me hungry faster

I wouldn't say either is better than the other, they're just different.  Comparing the bloodstream absorption rate of any dairy based protein powder to any whole food protein source is moot; they're usually a lot faster.  I'd question why such a fast absorption rate is desirable over a slower rate in any certain instance, anyway.  I'd just get whatever is a cheaper $/g protein pending taste is similar.

now lets compare a quality whey protein with a quality multi blend for example

    ON gold standard vs myofusion

both are almost same priced - on whey has around 77 servings but myofusion just has 63 servings

but on whey is just pure protein majorly isolates and concentrate being next ingredient

myofusion has whey concentrate , not too much of isolates ,egg , milk ( high in casein) hence this will not spike your insulin

added to this myofusion has added vitamins and minerals , flax seed oil which is EFAs which is important ( On whey does not have these)

multi blend with milk can be a good meal replacement , so i would prefer myofusion over ON whey , but ON whey post workout , 1 scoop of myofusion in the morning , 1 scoop of myofusion before bed would be fine i think

i  would prefer multi blends over mixing whey and casein as multi blends has EFAs , vitamins and minerals , fibers etc

Any sort of meal can significantly raise insulin levels--even a fatty meal.
