Hi, has anyone used taurine supplements and are they useful? What are they useful for and do they have any side effects? I read up on it and  it doesn't seem to have any side effects which is great. It's supposed to be healthy for the eyes or something, and prevent overtraining and make you anabolic

Oh and this 'similar to creatine, it works as a cell volumizer' and it's a potent antioxidant, it's contained in meat and eggs but we can't absorb it well from food so it's needed to supplement

A good article from the "Mayo Clinic"

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/taurine/AN01856

Personally I have never used the stuff and do not see any substantial benefit in taking the stuff.

    IMHO of Course!

I dont know much about this suppliment but if its not well absorbed when you eat it in food what makes you think it will be absorbed at all when taken as a suppliment?

Also, the body synthesises taurine itself so its not nescesary to take it as a suppliment.

In my eyes its a big waste of money but decide yourself Smiley

Hi, I found this http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/prima/taurine.html taurine at a really good price(good enough for me I'll settle for it). Is Primaforce a good company? Haven't heard of them before really, I think they have a popular beta-alanine or something but not sure

personal experience with taurine is : it does give a big energy boost when Im very tired (early morning workout) and I sweat like crazy, does not give energy boost when not tired and I sweat like crazy again.
conclusion : will never buy taurine again, since its almost worthless.

Ive been doing a bit of research into Taurine and apparently its good for a lot of things including eyesight, assists with removing fat from the liver, regulates heartbeat, prevents high blood pressure, & is a natural antioxidant. Its also proven to lower muscle damage from intense exercise (exercise depletes the muscles of taurine) and improve performance. Its even been shown to be useful in treating people with alcohol dependency.

Since discovering all these benefits I now make sure I include 1 x can of Red Bull (3000mg of Taurine) in my daily diet  Grin
