If someone offers me a piece of cake I never refuse it....but some people take the IIFYM thing way too seriously...I was reading on a lengthy thread at bodybuilding.com of these two guys going back and forth..the IIFYM fan kept spamming nonsense about how he gets his carbs from pies n shit all day... I mean wtf?..so what if he loses weight this way..doesn't mean he won't be malnourished!!...he can enjoy his old age disease as far as I am concerned..health>composition

I find it comical that my information is correct yet was deemed "incorrect" by a self-righteous, self-proclaimed "expert."

Oh it is? My mistake! Someone please enlighten me.

I do believe the information I provided is correct, even if it is not the response you were intending to receive. In all seriousness, I would be interested in hearing or being directed to the response you were looking for sir.

    IIFYM is absolutely absurd.

The problem is you don't even know what your talking about mate.

IIFYM is not some sort of license to try and squeeze in junk while adhering to caloric limits. It's about being able to freely manipulate your diet to a reasonable degree. Do you understand what I just said? Are you capable of creating such a distinction in your brain?

When losing weight the ONLY thing that matters is calories. Some may tell you it's carbohydrates, others may say it's HCG, some may say chicken breast with broccoli 6 times a day and others say go vegan. They are all fucking wrong.

When losing weight, IIFYM makes perfect sense.

Relax! You have to come out and insult me like that?

I see a lot of people following IIFYM who take it to ludicrous lengths like "I get all my carbs from cake cuz a carbs a carb right".... now if you put it in the way of, well feel free to manipulate your food..you know add syrup and sprinkles mm yummy, just make sure you're still eating reasonably healthy by getting lots of vitamins and fibre and protein and still falling into your macros by the end of the day..then yea..IIFYM all the way...

can we close this case? It's like walking on egg shells

    lol... you aren't getting it.

Do you realize that you're basing your entire accusation on a few idiotic heretics that claim "IIFYM" as an excuse to eat like slobs?

Do you realize that by your statement about eating cake you already follow the "IIFYM" protocol that (most) reasonable people follow and advocate?

You're obviously not an idiot.  All we're saying here is that a piece of cake or can of beer here and there while meeting nutrition goals through mostly whole foods is fine.  Reasonable people understand this and advocate it as IIFYM; it's simple moderation.  This is what you knowingly do too.

The few unreasonable people eat crap all day to meet their macro goals and claim they IIFYM are just fools.  Yes they'll still be able to meet their macro targets and composition goals but they do not care about general health.  I agree with you that people that do this are making poor choices.

    For example...............

Reasonable IIFYMer wants a "treat" every Friday night, so they have less potatoes with dinner to have a bowl of ice cream after.

Foolish IIFYMer wants a "treat" every Friday night, so they just eat fried chicken and ice cream for dinner.
