Not at all! There is nothing you can do for your height except eat right and pray you have a really tall ancestor.

It's a myth, basketball makes you taller? No, they choose tall kids to play it. Pullups make you taller? Not really, most gymnasts are ~170cm

I just came across thread and it reminded me of this myth when I was young. Trust me Basketball and pullups wouldn't make you taller. It is decided by your genes..

When I was growing up, my dad used to always tell me to hang (from pullup bars, etc) a lot so that I would get taller, haha. He even had a rope ladder made and hung from the balcony for me to climb.
Of course its a myth, and height is only decided by your genetics, but back in those days these types of myths got around faster and lots of people bought into them, my dad included. My elder bro was quite short, so my dad was worried about me. Regardless, (thanks to someone tall down my ancestry) I grew up to be taller than my dad, lol.
If anything, all that hanging and climbing gave me some upper body strength at least.

Height is not entirely genetics, it is also nutrition. Just hundred years ago a standard height of a man was way shorter than men today. And this was because the nutrition used to be very one-sided filled either with just grains or just fruits etc and in many cases they didn't eat enough either.
So if you want to maximize your growth, eat a lot and versatilely.

itll be very hard to not grow due to nutrition. i highly doubt any one in a developed would not grow from lack of nutrition
