    American Football I take it?

Interesting question here - what's more important in football, having a lot of muscle/strength, or having a massive explosiveness (very fast acceleration, fast top speed, being able to tackle very hard)?

It depends what position he's playing, defense he's going to want to be big and bulky but offense, fast, strong and agile. Unless hes on O-line.

Enes, just stick to the big compound exercises like, bench press, squats, deadlifts, military press, chin ups and pull ups, push ups and dips. Also, for quickness try some plyometric training.

One of the best weightlifting programs overall and for football would have to be Starting Strength. I won't list the reasons because they're all on the wiki. Here it is... http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ:The_Program#Three_Flavors_of_Starting_Strength
