Im getting a heavy bag soon, im just wondering if it would give any power to my punches/kicks if i just punch it everyday? I have a friend to teach me the right technique, so i dont hurt myself or anything. And should i hit it withouth gloves to condition my knuckles? I am planning to go into a boxing/mma club, but i just want to practice a while alone untill i find a good one, and since i have a friend to teach me the basics.

You'll Be Fine. Just Make Sure You Use Those Gloves.

If you plan on punching it without gloves make sure its the leather kind because some heavy bag materials are really rough. Not using gloves isnt really hard on the knuckles but can be hard on your wrists.

Heavy bags are built to increase power in punches. Not really built for kicking though. I wouldn't advise doing this everyday, but it does depend on how intense you train the day previous. Wear gloves and most importantly make sure you punch with a straight wrist; if your wrist is limp when punching then it could be damaging in several ways.

If you have no experience with it, I would atleast recommend using wraps. Protect your skin somewhat, and more importantly, it will help stabilize your wrists til they get accustomed to it. I dont use gloves, but thats because I am used to it, when you start going gloveless..there is some pain and sore knuckles involved But, you can get gloves for bag work relatively cheap, better safe than sorry. Since you have someone to help you, I am sure he will ease you into it so you dont get hurt. Technique over power, learn how before you go all out(or you will hurt yourself). That goes for both kicks and punches.

I do have gloves, usually use them. But i have tried couple of times withouth, and it doesnt hurt so much. Im just thinking if theres anything dangerous if you dont use them? Isnt it making knuckles harder?

Well yes, your bones will adapt to it and grow thicker, but takes some time(wolffs law ftw), but that exact same thing will happen if you use bag gloves that do not have dampening but is simply there to protect the skin.
But you will first off get thicker skin if you keep doing it...Problem is balancing it so you dont overdo it, as you can risk infections as skin might be torn etc. Many swap between gloves/no gloves in the same bag session for that reason.
Want to go gloveless you have to take it at a pace so your hands can adapt.
