Hi everyone,
I need some advice for a training programme, please.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been on the site, as I’ve just started University and have had a lot of moving and acclimatisation to do.  I’ve finally recovered from my dislocated clavicle, although I’m still lacking strength in my left shoulder/arm.

I’ve been given a strength and power programme by the trainers at the gym, however I’ve recently started up at a local boxing.  Mixing this with Judo training and the heavy power workout is just draining me too much.
My current training days are

Monday   -   Boxing (1.5 hours)
Tuesday   -   Judo (1.5/2 hours)
Wednesday -   Judo (1.5/2 hours), 45 minute rest and then Boxing (1.5 hours)
Thursday   -   Rest
Friday   -   Judo Fitness (1 hour)
Saturday   -   Heavy Bag Boxing (1 hour)
Sunday   -   Rest

I’m trying to shed as much fat as possible, whilst adding muscle mass and strength.  Quite a lot really.
I currently weigh in at 87.6kg, with 8 site skin fold measurements of 77.2mm (Triceps, Subscapular, Biceps, Iliac Crest, Supraspinale, Abdominal, Front Thigh and Medial Calf)

Apparently this is good for an athlete, according to the woman, but I really need to cut the fat for competitions.  She’s also given me my current somatotype ratings:
Ectomorph – 1.8
Endomorph – 2.3
Mesomorph – 6.1

If anyone could recommend a programme to add muscle mass and cardio advice for stripping fat, it would be fantastic.  I’ve looked at the forum and the site, but I’m struggling to relate it to the amount I’m already doing.
Thanks,
Conal

I think that any pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing exercise should be fine. So, almost any gym/fitness program will be ok to compensate your judo/boxing training.

your going to be a good fighter i can tell.

Boxing + Judo + dedication hard work = WIN!

looks good though Tongue

i would just stop working out with heavy weight lifting and concentrate on martial arts.

With all that training, so many calories are going to be burned up so if you want to gain muscle, you're gonna have to eat a hell of a lot. Then there is also the problem of over training so you'll have to be careful and make sure the muscles have time to rest.

As for losing fat at the same time as gaining muscle, it's not easy but check out the carb cycling diet

www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/the_carb_cycling_codex

A little complicated to follow but it works. I have a client who got great results from it.

Personally, I think you're trying to do too much at the same time. If I were you I would just concentrate on the martial arts and also do a little bit of strength training (taking care not to overdo it)  while eating enough food, and good quality, healthy food. The way your body looks will then take care of itself.
