Sorry I don't know what I'm ment to be looking at in that video... plus they're in blocks with spikes on... the sprinters are trained to explode out of the blocks blah blah blah
Theo Walcott (premiership footballer) runs 100meters in sub 10.5
But his 40meter time is 4.72 whereas Bolts is 4.8
And I would put my house on the fact that over 10-20 meters Walcott is further ahead and by 40meters Bolt has realed him back in a lot... obviously in 40 meters time Bolt has smashed him but that's not the point.
According to IAAF Split Times, Usain Bolt ran his FIRST 40 meters in 4.65 seconds. Subtracting his reaction time which was .165 seconds, he ran the 40 meters in 4.485 seconds.
Bolt’s times were
Electronically Timed, meaning Bolt is reacting to the Gun which means you have to subtract .165 from his 40 time.
In both Soccer and American Football Players times are “Hand Timed” when the Runner Moves the Human Starts the Stopwatch! Consider the human error in hand-timed 40m/40yd timings.
