Ok.. I hear to kick a ball really hard, you legs need to be explosive. So power is the aspect here, not strength. Is there any leg power training program that can make me archive more explosiveness in my legs so that I can kick the ball really hard? And what is the main muscle used in a kick? Is it the quads? Will jump squats help?

Um... I do not play soccer and I don't know how to play it... I can't even control the ball. It's just that me and my other friends who also don't know how to play will simply take a soccer ball and take turns to kick it hard on a wall. One of my friends can kick the ball like 2X harder than me. So the ball like flys 2X faster. In order for me so kick as hard as that, I have push my self to my max when kicking, but unlike me, he does it without full effort. So I wanna be able to kick the ball real hard too. I heard on a article that kicking harder is dependent on power not strength. http://www.athleticquickness.com/page.asp?page_id=49

So is there any power training for legs?

I think that "leg extensions" and "leg curls" should help.

@armesh, yes power is good. Power cleans, power snatches will develope leg power. General strength training will also work, like squats and the usual compounds. The stronger you are the harder you will be able to kick. Skill specific training, read: playing soccer all the time, will also help a lot.

It's all technique my friend... well not all but a lot of it.

Look at any of the players who launch it and they'll have strong quad and buttocks!!

But without doing any weights etc

    1. Which part of your foot are you kicking the ball with?

For power you want to hit it with your laces (the top of your foot) and have your foot pointing down inline with your shin.

there are 2 ways to hit it like this, if you look at CR7 he is very upright and swings his leg through like a pendulum.  I prefer to be leaning to my left slightly and have a bit more of a sweeping motion. (all though you are prob more likely to slip doing it this way - so carefull if on concrete)

Plant your standing foot pull the heel of your kicking as far back & close to your arse as poss and then swing through with as much power catching the ball as you leg full extends.

Try and also get your bodyweight moving through as well keep your hands up for balance and smash that bad boy!!

Keep your weight foward and chest level with the ball unless you want it to clear the wall and the ajoining streets
THat been said its useless been able to hit a ball hard if you can't put it where you want...

Assume that your technique is perfect, and now the whole thing is dependent on muscles.

Assumption is the mother of all f*ck ups!!

You don't have perfect technique and it will take a lot less time to improve your technique than muscles...

That been said work on your legs but it won't make any difference for a while, in which time your technique will have improved...

So can you kick futher than that cause your leg muscles should be way bigger and stronger than him. Or you can't cause you dun train for power. If it's technique issue, assume your technique is as good as him.
