Hi all. Been fine tuning my workout plan with a focus on Martial Arts (undecided as to which yet).

Quote
Friday -- Pure Cardio for Endurance

30 mins Stationary Bike
20 mins Jump Rope
15+ mins Rowing Machine

The point of my routine is to strike a balance between the many routes to training one's body: Speed, strength, stability, accuracy, endurance, and explosive power.

I know there's some flaws in my workout plan, as I'm still fine-tuning it; some feedback and suggestions are very recommended.

Also, if anyone has useful drills to do, links would be highly appreciated!

cheers fellas, and thanks!

Plan of Action:

Mass training until goal of 200lbs while maintaining body fat % is met

switching to more varied course:

Alternating four-month periods of Strength Training (w/ some explosives as well), Endurance Training, and Mass training.

too much failure imo...

hmm if i were you here is what i would do

Monday : Pure strength routine, no mass, just go 3x3 or 3x5 or something. Gymnastics apparantly is really good for martial arts as it teaches you some balance and stuff. I do gymnastics and i guess it has helped a tiny bit, but its good for general strength.

Warm up with some bike stuff

3x3 Pistol squats
2xFront lever holds
2xback lever holds
2x5 Pullups
2x5 Dips
3x Handstand walks up the wall

Tuesday: off rest

Wednesday:

Bike stuff, try and go hard on the cardio, like bike hard, for endurence. but not too long, you still need energy to practice your martial arts.

3x Hanging leg raises
3x Side raises, like instead of lifting leg infront of you, you lift it sideways.
3x supermans

do that as a circuit you can add some oblique stuff in there but dont go to failure

Then.... practice your marital arts, its only whats gonna make you better really. I mean you can do all that extra workout shit but it really doesnt help. Well not from my experience, i prefer to just keep practicing the actual art and that improves me alot.

so practice all your kicks, think of combos. When i do myw orkouts i sit a think of combos for about 15 minutes, and then practice them many many times over and over again. Magnus told me once that its better if i take it step by step rather than try and become a master overnight, so choose something small, and then make it strong. Like building a tower. If you just use really shitty bricks then its gonna break, but if you take time for each brick it will be strong Smiley

thursday:off

pure cardio for stamina

so yeah i hope i helped a bit.
