hey guys i have been weight lifting for about 18months now and have seen pretty good success with strength gains and size gain. i used to be a runner, but back off excessive cardio to concentrate on weight lifting. well, i really miss the challenge of training for runs and competing. however, id rather keep strength and size than stay thin and be able to run (im 6'5 and naturally long legged and lean, so i drop weight very easy ). anyone have any sports or activities they compete in that still has the physical push and endurance??? maybe rowing??? i live in portland, oregon btw. thanks! zack

this sorta thing. It's really fun. You need a coach most likely, but it's a great physical activity which is demanding and competitive, technically challenging, and gets you really strong and fit.

I practice martial arts but I don't compete in them, I believe if your going to compete in MMA you should dedicate your life to it because it can leave you ALL fucked up.
I would say the same goes to olympic lifting man, your really tall dead lifts are much more dangerous when your tall *I have a herniated disc because of dead lifts*.
here are some sports I recommend
- dating hard women - any martial art - team sports except football - mountain climbing - skiing snowboarding - water sports - dating hard men?
hehe, every man needs his challenge, just find what turns you on.

haahahahah I'm really appreciating your answers, I like the humor. yah i agree with you on doing deads when youre taller. I try not to excuse myself from lifts due to body type, but at the same time i dont want to compromise form and jack my body up badly. thanks again for the response!

Being taller doesn't mean you have to have a comparatively weak back. Tall people compete with short people, fat, slim etc. Like you said body type is no excuse. But anyway, it was just a suggestion!

yes, youre right. i will admit that squats are a challenge for me. super hard to maintain form for me. deads are not too bad, though it was recommended to me by a weight coach at my gym to switch to sumo deads and stiff legged deads. love those!
