All swimmers please, come in here Cheesy
Discuss techniques you use in the 4 basic ways of swimming;

Backstroke

Crawl

Breaststroke

Butterfly

So yeah, how long have you been swimming? How often do you swim? Where do you swim? Do you enjoy it?
Do you want to start swimming, but don't know how? (I'm a swimming instructor so I'm sure I could help you out)
Did you just start swimming, and want tips on how to get better?
This is the place!

Butterfly is my favorite, but I often do the crawl, which we call freestyle (layman term for the crawl in Philippines) where I come from.

It's all in the waist. :3

    Breast stroke. :3...

The swimming version is very difficult.  To me, it's the stroke which requires the most upper body strength.  >.<

Yeah it's all about gliding in the water Cheesy
The way I start off is to:
Start by kicking off the platform (or diving :3)
Then I lay as an arrow with my hands gathered above my head and my legs gathered
Then force your arms to laying in a parallell line with the body with a quick swish; as I do a kick underwater
And then put slide your arms up along your body as you do a breaststroke kick; at the same time gather them above your head

People who haven't done this won't understand a single word xD

Does your glide emulate the dolphin kick?  Mine does for some reason.

It's like when you pull, your upper body is above water, then when you return, and kick, you glide but your butt sticks out for a few moments.  :3

I hope you learn to swim asap.  It's fun. And if you've got a girl, it's more fun.
