So guys, recently, other than entering my fat loss journey, I also got into basketball and first impression when I put my shorts on is dudes mirin' my legs saying I must be black(I'm not racist) cuz my legs are huge and they are really 'defined'(pretty much all my fat is stored in my upperbody) but I can barely dunk(maybe touch the rim) but we are talking about someone who actually never worked out or played basketball in his life so I think it's pretty good? I'm 6'1 and about 230lbs, do you people think if I lose the excessive fat I have it will be much easier to dunk for me and how? Do you use upperbody strength(which is where my fat is located) to dunk? I've tried for a 'dunking' program but it's pretty much all expensive without 'real' testimonials so I don't know what to do.
The guy who introduced me to it says I'm genetically gifted to jump and sprint but I know nothing about it lol.
Thanks

yea, losing weight will make dunking wayyy easier, but you wont feel it, you'll just notice your vert going up. tbh being able to touch the rim is pretty good considering youve never done stuff before, but then you are quite tall, still though not bad. you need to get your legs more explosive and lose the weight. so start some cardio and for your legs :

apparantly people have been able to increase their vert quite alot from following what he says so give it a try Smiley

I'm not sure, does he not say in one of his videos. Probably take a day of I between, so non consecutive days. He has 3 videos on increasing vert, start with that for a few weeks them go to the next video. Tell me how it goes if you try it, as I want to get dunking at some point.

Losing the weight will help. I'm sure there is fat stored in your legs as well.

It doesn't matter where the fat is in your body, being lighter will make it easier to jump period. Lower body fat % = faster sprint, higher vertical.
